   Unhelpful, unhealthy psychobabble
If you want to teach your children how to be disrespectful and in control of yourself, then knock yourself out and read this book.

Glad I bought this book. It’s really changed the way I interact with my son.
I thought the book was quick, but I stuck with it, waiting for the silver bullet to resolve it all. In this book, I read about myself. The type of parent that I am. The silly charts I tried over the years. Throwing all I could to fix my kid was a bit of a throwing. As the author stated a number of times, there is no silver bullet, finally proving itself at the end of the book. Every day is a challenge, some of us much more challenging than others! Our children are complicated, so it is our responsibility to assist them with their thoughts and feelings. Noted myself to use a coach approach really helps me regain my emotional response out of the equation so that I can guide my son more effectively.

An Excellent Journey Into Compassionate Parenting
Expanding the ADHD diagnosis to include children with more complex diagnosis, Elaine presents the topic of raising complex children clearly, lightheartedly and with sensitivity. Her expertise in this field is valuable to the reader, and her points are well received and articulated clearly. I wish I had this book earlier when I was raising my children, but this topic is so pervasive and the information presented so helpful that anyone can benefit from reading this essential guide. There are parts that made me laugh and others that made me cry when I realized how easy it is to miss the mark, point fingers and play the shame game. Elaine explained how much more effective it is when we empower our children by learning to coach and not to control. Then we can give them wings.

   Good for Kids Ages 3 - 33
When I heard Michael Elaine Taylor-Klaus say that this book is good for parents of young children between the ages of 3 and 33, including complex adults who have not yet started, I knew I had to have it. I ate it within a few hours and am now beginning my second, more methodical read with a marker in hand to mark the parts that are most relevant to my family. This book will help parents of complex children realize that they are not as alone as they may have thought they were. Here is genuinely good news for parents of non-complex children. I've read this book only 25 years ago, when my children were young!

   All kids are complex kids!
Though there may be a subtitle on ADHD and anxiety, Taylor-Klaus is the voice of experience and has the reason that all children have their own complexity. Parenting is Pandemic, period. Any parent should read this and gain from having a good friend as close as your nightstand with wise advice.

Understanding, Motivating, and Encouraging Complex Kids
Elaine Taylor-Klaus has written an excellent book for parents, clinicians and educators who have children who don 't quite fit the mold. Her approach to complex children will help psychologists such as myself better recognize how children's strengths and skills come in many different forms. And for parents of these children, this book is powerful in providing them with permission to be creative in how they help their children develop. My Kid's Just Not Motivated '' was particularly enjoyable the chapter titled My Kid's Not Motivated ''. As a practicing clinician, I have never had a good answer to parents who ask me how to motivate their children. After reading The Essential Guide to Raising Complex Kids, I can provide a roadmap for parents who want to know how to engage and motivated their children. The author notes how she does not have all the answers, but one of the book's strengths is that it encourages parents to seek out new solutions for their complex children.
