Even the simplest Ayurveda practices complement Western medicine because of their focus on righting imbalance before it creates disease. The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook inspires yogis and nonyogis alike to get into the kitchen and explore this time-honored system of seasonal eating for health and nourishment.

Ditching processed food and learning to eat well at home are the first steps you can take to relieving imbalance. The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook removes many of the obstacles by showing you how straightforward and accessible preparing your own delicious, seasonal meals can be. Season by season, learn how the changing weather and qualities in your environment both mirror and influence your body and appetite.    I love this cookbook
This cookbook is my favorite! Not only does it offer daily recipes, but also provides an overview of Ayurveda and wonderful practices. I am not a cook, but want to be! and this book helped me tremendously. Kate O 'Donnell makes it simple, practical and easy to eat in the Ayurvedic tradition. She tells you what is needed, how to achieve it, why to do it, and provides all the information in an easy graceful style that makes you feel right at home, it is as if she is there with you in the kitchen. This now has become my favorite cookbook ever. Highly recommended!

   Very helpful
Breaks it for you simply while having enough depth details to know everything you need to know in order to apply the principles in your own life. I say I don 't like how she still says : You can include some things in moderation not recommended in ayurvedic medicine, and includes those I recommended in some recipes. But regardless, it is a really great book. Just be aware that not all ingredients she has in recipes are advisable in a Sattvic diet.

Good information for those new to Ayurveda or with some experience
This book was recommended by my instructor in YTT and I have seen it referenced by other ayurvedic practitioners. It is far more than a recipe book ; it also includes a fantastic overview of Ayurvedic principles in an easy-to-digest format. The author has an excellent reputation in the yoga community. Many of her recipes are easy to make and do not contain ingredients that are difficult to obtain.

   Easy to follow
I bought this book when I first started exploring Ayurveda a few years ago. I found this cookbook to be the only one that really helped me to relax into this cooking style with recipes that were understandable and not too overwhelming with ingredients. I could find everything at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or online if it wasn 't in my local store. I still use this cookbook often and all my other ayurvedic cookbooks I own have had very little use because they overwhelm me. I was lucky when I found this book at the beginning of my journey, otherwise I would have given up.

New to Ayurveda, Love the Book
I find it extremely helpful in making healthy eating food. I love the Kichari, the cleaning green soup and Chia Pudding. I don 't follow the Ayurvedic principals on a regular basis, but I have used the book to treat sluggishness, headaches, and other minor ailments. I am now off all the medication. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in preparing healthy food with simple recipes. Who knew that it was so simple to make your own almond milk? What do you think?

Best Ayurvedic cookbook on the market
For the last two weeks, I have cooked from this cookbook every day. The difficulty with most ayurvedic plans is the details of the season and the imbalance and cooking for multiple people. This cookbook simplifies everything by separating into different seasons and foods that, regardless of their dosha and imbalance, can be nourishing and balancing for all body types. I would buy a second cookbook if she wrote another!

   Noice!
Laugh if you want, but use onions and garlic almost in savory dishes. Today I followed the recipe for the red pumpkin and autumn dal soup... outstanding! It was just mild and pleasant - my 5 year old and 1 year old loved it with rice and my husband and I enjoyed it too. That is the first recipe I made from this book, but if this is a winner, this is a winner. Ayurveda studied a few years ago and was worried that this book might not have much information. I was pleasantly surprised '' by the care that the authors took to explain things. Looking forward to learning more and making more.
