I recommend that you read this book long before you think ...
This is a super-helpful book not only for anyone who is an executor, but also for anyone who wants to manage an executor to someday name his estate. I recommend reading this book long before you think that you may actually need it, so that you can take the time to prepare the information and do what you can before the time. The book is written in easy-to-understand terms with lots of good practical advice. I left a star because I thought some of the tax-related information could have been more thorough as a tax professional. To get a more complete picture of the duties and responsibilities of an executor from a tax perspective, you may request the IRS - Publication 559, Survivors, Executors and Administrators. This book is from Pub and not a book. Together with 559, 559 will give you plenty of good, useful information.

Well written and easy to understand the instructions and guidelines
Book is excellent. I read it through and it was written so that a person could easily understand what was said and how to really go about things. I figured that my son would appreciate a little bit of direction when the time comes for him to deal with it.

This book might be good years before a death when you're trying to make ...
This book could be helpful years before a death, when you're trying to make plans, but after a death, answered questions about what needs to be taken care of, how soon and the variations state-to-state it was not good.

   It's very handy
You just need to remember that this book gives you everything that needs to be done, regardless of what state you live in. Every state is different, so you need to check with their requirements. The inventory of the home's assets was confusing, i.e. If you believe the will is maybe contested, you may want to do a full accounting for every last knife, fork and spoon.

   Good Basic Information
This is a good general book for real estate administrators as long as you remember that every state has slightly different requirements. The most important feature of the book is perhaps making you aware that this is not a simple process to be carried out by the faint of heart. Even with good intentions, the executor can get into personal trouble if all the t's are not crossed correctly. Then buy and digest the book and keep reading.
