A must have book for gardeners

The first book I ever read was the Tree and Shrub expert. This book is a revised version of an excellent book, brought up to date and without the tree part. When faced with a new garden, it's useful to have a plan. The information is clear and provides a list of popular and not so popular shrubs with all the relevant details of preferred locations, height and spread and planting conditions.

There is lots of information in this book. Although the plants are listed alphabetically, you need to know your plant first, that's disappointing. It's not very good to identify a plant by looking at leaves or flowers.

This book is a must read for any gardener who wants to know more about nature in their gardens. The book to own is this. I bought this book 15 years ago and needed a new copy. It's perfect for the first time gardener.
