Great recipe book! A few additions I'd like to make
Derived From Web , Oct 13, 2020
There are some really goodkey dishes in this book that are very much a staple of Taiwanese cuisine, from the soups to the dumplings, and even the stir-fried potato vine. There are a few additional recipes that I feel are missing, but should have been added, but it more than makes up for it with the chicken and pork recipes. The 1010 would recommend.

Taiwan cuisine rocks!
Derived From Web , Feb 13, 2019
For two reasons, this cookbook receives four stars : The first 39 pages concern Taiwanese history, which is not disclosed in the product description '' 2. Preparing such cuisine can be difficult for novices, especially if they have no idea of the final presentation. Otherwise, the index is good and the cookbook itself is thorough as far as it goes...

A very complete book about Taiwanese cuisine and a very good introduction to the beautiful country.
Derived From Web , Dec 7, 2017
If this is your first time visiting Taiwan, the first 40 pages and the images give you a very good introduction to the country on her history, culture and people. If you are a visitor coming from Taiwan just like you can use this book to duplicate those delicious dishes you tried there. Of course, you may need to tweak it a little to suit your personal taste. I always feel the most important part of a trip is to taste the local foods, which is the only experience you can not gain from watching TV. This book helps people to re-create that beautiful memory. For those people who are somewhat related to Taiwan, but prefer to read an English book, this book can reestablish that bond.

A taste of home
Derived From Web , Oct 5, 2017
This brings me back. As a first generation and half-Taiwanese myself, I was looking for a cookbook to help me make the dishes I grew up with. It has a beautiful bit of history, culture and lots of small photos. The only thing I wish it had are recipes for hot peanut drink and oxtail soup.

Taiwanese cuisine and culture!
Derived From Web , Aug 14, 2017
I purchased this book recently and I am enjoying it! '' I am very appreciative of the author's background on the history of Taiwan, both from her personal experience and from research. The dish instructions are thorough and have a short explanation of their purpose for each. Although there are many photos of the dishes, I wish there were more, but a quick image search on Google solves this. overall, a wonderful book for anyone interested in learning about Taiwanese culture and cuisine!
