Book Overview

Kids today are faced with a huge range of different views on who God is (or isn't). How can they be sure who's got it right?

This beautifully illustrated hardback storybook for children aged 3-6 is written by the team behind The Garden, the Curtain & the Cross. It retells two extraordinary events in history when the God of the Bible proved himself to be the one true God.

First it takes children back to Elijah's time and the gripping God contest between the God of the Bible, Yahweh, and the false god Baal. Then it fast-forwards to a different mountain and another God contest at an empty tomb.

Once the evidence is examined, it invites kids, in a world of so many options, to decide with confidence to join Team Jesus.

   Yahweh
If you are Jewish, this is probably not the book for you. We are Catholics, and it works for us, too. It has great illustrations, I do think the story could be a little better, but that's just my preference.

Biblically correct- Invites Child to Be on Jesus' Team
Beautiful pictures, carefully told about God's power. The Son of Man was the greatest display of power, he said.

   A Great Children's Book!
Yes, I have loved every single book in this series, and this one is no exception. He spoke of the need for "spiritual clarity" and "courageous" decision-making.

YHWH is God and there is no other besides Him
This book has been a hit with our kids. Theologically accurate, and shows that He is God and there is no other engaging, he added.

   Love this book!
We're huge fans of Dr. Goin's book, and we love the cover. It was a blast seeing the kids decide to be on team Jesus! My oldest is 5, and I have a 3 and 1 year old so we replace saying Yahweh with saying God, just to not confuse them by adding in another name. 0 2622010 2622070 I just say meat so it's not too graphic for them at these really young ages. Other than that, it's a great book for all ages.

An excellent book that shares a powerful story from the Bible
The book tells the story of how the ancient Israelites encountered the power of God in a contest. He challenged the group that worshipped Baal to ask him to start a fire. Nobody was injured, and no charges have been filed, according to the GBI. He then poured water over his fire and asked God to start it again. He said that "the Lord consumed it all."
