   Should be required reading
Since I started this program, I have lost forty pounds, and my doctor told me, with an astonished look on his face, that my A1c dropped from 7 to 6.3 in three months, that he plans to take me off my Metformin the next time if the pattern continues. The only down side is the expense of having to take off all my suits and pants. I think I may add years to my life as well. Michael D. Michael is an important distinction.

   Eat Right with this...
I lost 12 lbs. On the grain diet, focus on the brain. I am a 70 year old male, 5' 11 and went from 175 lbs. 163 lbs. With this, good luck.

   This one is a keeper
This is one of the best-known keepers in particular. I believe that it will achieve credibility with traditional medicine in the months to come. Very well researched-some of the science in the first part of the book is heavy going, but necessary to establish bona fides. I found the discipline to go grain free in my life for the first time and lost 10 pounds without hunger.

   Gluten guru!
I recommend this book for gluten-committed fanatics and those who are free for medical reasons. It is, however, very deep and requires a great deal of commitment to follow this book. I would not recommend this for the committed cookbook reader, for someone who is not a casual person to a gluten-free diet based on medical conditions.

   Good info, but basic recipes
While I give the book Grain Brain 5 stars, the cookbook is about 3+. There were a few recipes that interested me and I suppose it could be a good introduction to the diet, but if you're experienced in the kitchen, it is very basic. For example, there is a recipe for Filet Mignon with Compound Butter. Ingredients include a variety of vegetables, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, fresh rosemary, saltpepper. I will follow the Grain Brain Dietary Guidelines, but as for cookbooks, I found more interesting recipes in the book The Paleo Approach Cookbook.

Recipes Seem Overly Slanted to Red Meat
It was disappointing to see so many red meat recipes based on red meat. This has been debunked since red meat and its effect on health have been so many authors. The negative effects of this have been particularly well done here. Grains seem to be so controversial that something like this book is a welcome addition in that sense. At the same time, not all grains have a negative effect, as can be verified by anyone who wants to introduce them into his diet and monitor his ian response.

If you are trying to improve your eating habits, this cookbook has great examples. I '', I am trying to read all his books. I am attempting to correct my bad habits. From Dr David Perlmutter, I learn many things ; he is very informative. I am attempting to resolve so many of my bad eating habits, hopefully I will be able to improve my health and my brain. I was not aware that my brain was so important to my digestive system.
