It's pretty much little rhyming stories that give you hints on how to come up with the answer they give. I don 't know how better to describe it - it is a cute little book though. When I was in fourth grade, my teacher made up little rhymes to teach us multiplication that I still remember and I'm 32 lol, so that one day this book will have the same effect on my children.

Grapes of Math!

I adore this book. I am designing some great curriculum with a friend around the theme of perseverance and we use this book as the foundational text. I am really excited to see what kinds of great things come from Greg Tang's book and the encouragement to have students look at math differently!

Beyond ones
Derived From Web , May 27, 2022
The Grapes Of Math by Greg Tang is a book that promotes groupings of numbers to help in quick addition. It shows a different way of looking at a group of objects - snails, grapes, fish, etc. and looking for ways to group them into smaller numbers that are faster to add together instead of just counting them by one. A great sequel to Tang's book Math Fables, and perfect for when your child is moving to more advanced work with numbers such as Counting by 2, 5, etc. It will become easier for a child to grasp that 5 becomes each in 4 rows 5, 4 times 5 x 4. This is the place in math that fills up this book.

MAT 146 Review
Derived From Web , May 27, 2022
I am a student at Pima College, majoring in elementary education. During their math hour, I read The Grapes of Math, to a resource room class. The students in the class were first grade through fifth. Most students were not familiar with the mathematical terms used in the book, and I had to explain the Vocab to them for each riddle. I really enjoyed the book, but I would recommend that it should be used for 5th or 6th grade classrooms.

It is a good book

It is a good book for children who do not have a strong feeling for numbers, but love poetry and rhythms. It is logical and connects artistic feeling with creative thinking in a creative way.

Great idea

The book is wonderful. Lastly, there are great books that celebrate math!! This is an excellent book for older children. I think I 'd say at least onest grade. At least, if it is properly done, it is too time consuming for a preschooler. My 3 year old, though he's very bright, could only hang for 3 pages doing it the right way. After that, we made our own *way*. Don 't be discouraged to buy it though, because you can never encourage math enough, no matter the age.

Great book for a fun look at math.

I will look into other ways to collect my books, rather than have Amazon sitting on my order, while they process other orders. If the only way to pay for an order is to get it in a resonable time, I will shop elsewhere. I will not pay a company to be a customer ''.
