Wish I could walk through shadow!
After reading this book, I think it was written with a male audience in mind -- lots of sword play and other macho stuff in it, but something about it hooked me. It had to get through all 1260 pages for me! I have not read a book that long since Gone With the Wind. My favorite part of the book was the first half centered on Corwin. The later chapters that focused on his son, Merlin, were not interesting to me. I believe that it was because it lost some of its other-world feeling. Lancer and his friend Luke had pretty much the same interests and mannerisms in present-day society as young men. General : I enjoyed the book a lot. It caused me to stay many nights past my bedtime.

   Great series- terrible edition
I enjoyed reading the series and read it all. This edition, however, is terrible. The quality of binding is poor. Their are also a number of errors in this issue that are not present in other editions, from simple typographical errors to entire paragraphs being left out. If you can get the series in another way, then get this book. However, try to get the previous editions first. You will be glad that you did.

it may be alittle hard to grasp at first but stick with it I promise you wont be disappointed.
10 book series, If you have never read this or his Lord Of Light books, it may be hard to grasp at first, but stick with it, I promise you won 't be disappointed.

Thought-provoking sci-fi; all 10 books in one volume
No spoilers The first five books are must-haves, and when you've gotten halfway through a series, it feels wrong to follow the author to the end. Having all ten books in a volume uncomplicates the process considerably. Worth the money, worth saving for future trips. The only zelazny I recommend more is Lord of Light, which is an absolute top ten favorite, with the best of the best.

   Good but loooooooonnnnnnnggggggg
I know that he has been around forever, but I never got around to it. When I saw that I could get a jump start and buy 10 books in one, I thought this was a great idea. Don 't get me wrong. The first 5 focus on a character, while the second five focus on the son of that character. One thing I realized right off the bat. If you don 't like the characters or the story line, you are screwed as you bought 10 books in a row. The second thing I realized is that reading this book on your back is a chest crusher. I found that my chest had a dent from where the book leaned on my chest. Well, Oh. Good to read :

Super long but interesting concepts, good fantasy read
I haven 't completed this yet, as it is a very long read, but it is a very interesting fantasy book with concepts I have never encountered before. I believe it is worth reading if you are a fan of the fantasy genre, even if you don 't get through the whole thing... kind of like Tolkein.

Came in Late, Cover has a Tear, Rest is fine
Cover has a 3 inch tear from the bottom towards the center, but the rest of the book is in moderate condition. It was supposed to arrive within a two week period ending on the 13th, arrived on the 15th, seems like the USPS or the shipper was slacking, but I am glad to have my book. I wish I had ordered other books to keep me entertained and to stop me from nitting when the mail ran lol. Can 't wait to kick back and start reading the book.

5 star story, 3 star book
I read the Chronicles of Amber first in the late 1980s. Love the original series, although it hasn t aged particularly well. This physical book is actually disappointing. The binding is thin and already worn, though it is less than 6 months old. Also, there are multiple editing mistakes in this copy-misspelled words, wrong words in the sentence. It is usually not an issue, but I expected better. I wish there was a Kindle version '', which would make some aspects of this much easier. At 1200+ pages, this is sadly not a book to take on vacation with you. All of a sudden the plot fragments and is then tied in a bow by the main character's use of a deus ex machina that leaves the story with a very unsatisfying conclusion.

   Pretty Good Passive Read
I bought this for an incarcerated inmate, but considering that Amazon did not send the other book I paid for, I did not find this book until after the window was closed, and ended up costing me $40.00, but he enjoyed reading it. The first few books are more than the latter four. The reason I bought an anthology like this was that I thought it would be a good read for an incarcerated inmate who enjoyed sci-fifantasy stories '' it was. It is much cheaper to buy a full telling of the chronicles like this than to buy the novels one by one. While I enjoyed it myself, it was read by a 25 year old young man.

   Classic
The Chronicles of Amber is a classic for science - fiction - fans a lot of fun. The first Chronicle was printed way back in 1975, and they became the basis for many other SF writings and films.
