With more than two hundred straightforward, nutrient-dense, and appealing recipes, The Heal Your Gut Cookbook was created by GAPS Diet experts Hilary Boynton and Mary G. Brackett to help heal your gut and to manage the illnesses that stem from it.
Developed by pioneering British MD Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, who provides the book's Foreword, Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) refers to disorders, including AD/ADHD, autism, addictions, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, stemming from or exacerbated by leaky gut and dysbiosis. GAPS also refers to chronic gut-related physical conditions, including celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes type one, and Crohn's disease, as well as asthma, eczema, allergies, thyroid disorders, and more. An evolution of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, the GAPS Diet will appeal to followers of the Paleo Diet, who are still struggling for optimum health, as well as anyone interested in the health benefits of fermentation or the Weston A. Price approach to nutrition.
In The Heal Your Gut Cookbook, readers will learn about the key cooking techniques and ingredients that form the backbone of the GAPS Diet: working with stocks and broths, soaking nuts and seeds, using coconut, and culturing raw dairy. I have changed the way I eat ; my acid reflux is gone. Reccomended for anyone who has digestive problems and can stick to the guns, because the gaps diet can be really hard to do if you don 't have the will power.

Not for the Casual Dieter, But GREAT for Those With Severe Gastrointestinal Issues!
Derived From Web , Feb 1, 2018
Got this book for a friend who has severe GI issues -- can not tolerate dairy, gluten or even SUGAR! It is really kind of a last-ditch effort and is not easy. But if you try eliminating a million things from your diet and you're frustrated because the list of things you can eat seems to shrink every day, this is a good way to heal your gut and get back to good health instead of just trying to stay afloat.

Excellent eats!
Derived From Web , Oct 23, 2017
A bit disappointed that ingredients that the writers could not digest were not always included in recipes, though they are GAPS-legal. But... The recipes were so stellar that I still give it 5 stars! Celery Root Soup is a new favorite and even though I moved away from GAPS to fit my nutritional needs, I still use this cookbook! Some of the more simple recipes I have never tried because my style is more complex. But the food that I tried was fantastic. Note also to make the raisin bread with coconut butter as the base : The only GAPS bread I actually found quite scrumptious!

She has a lot of good hints of how to get little kids through the ...
Derived From Web , May 23, 2017
This book is a must if you want to put your family on GAPS. Especially helpful to moms of little children because the author is a mother herself and puts her children through the diet. She has a lot of good hints about how to get little kids through the diet without a revolt on your hands. My family did it and our children are all younger than 6! Our inflammation went away, my daughter's stomach aches went away, our 2 year old cries less and sleeps better, and I lost 25 lbs without even trying! The other thing I've noticed is that our skin now shines, our eye whites seem whiter and the color part looks more intense. It has just brightened our faces and our eyes. If you think that this diet might be for you, do it!
