A sequel even better than the first book
I don 't know why I put off reading this for so long, but I want to go back in time and tell my past self to pick this up immediately, too many months were wasted not having this in my life. I KNOW this is a story of SO much more, but the relationship building and romance for tea is just *chefs kiss* and now one of my favorite things. The dual timeline story telling is so much more powerful in this sequel, I am thoroughly invested in both timelines and still need answers about some of my favorite characters that are MIA in the present.
Wow, what a sequel this was...
Wow, what a sequel was that. It also managed to improve the tiny errors I had with book one specifically. I would really like to aplaud Rin Chupeco for this excellence. We really got to see more of the world, the magic system was expanded, character relationships were tested, and there were consequences for actions and decisions made. Tea went through the emotions really well. I felt for her definitely ''. I have a critique, a very minor critique, that the ending sequence has hurt me and I do not approve WHY RIN WHY? Where is Shadowglass? I need it now!
   I love this series!
I am so in love with this series! I love seeing how the story turns out to where we started. Tea and her friends really like the relationship between myself. She's so morally gray and the others keep her sane on some level. I hope there is a hopeful ending here, but I am not that happy, but that is ok, because I really enjoy the ride.
Too much of a YA thing
Not my cup of coffee-too many adolescent tantrums in the way of a good storyline. I even went as far as Book Two, but couldn t stand it any longer.
Rin Chupeco is a master storyteller...
The Heart Forger picks up where the Bone Witch ends and leads us on more of Tea's current and past path. There are so many things in the Bone Witch that we find are not what they appeared to be. This book is full of more beauty and ugliness in this masterful world that Rin created for us. These first two books have put me through so many intense emotions that I know that I am not yet ready to face the final book. Although this is only the 2nd book by Rin's I have ever read...I can honestly say that she is one of my favorite authors and I can 't wait to meet the other worlds she created in her other books.
   Wonderful journey through darkness
The adventure continues as Tea comes out of exile to control her darkness and her ability to revel more than the Azidaeva she is used to. As seen through Tea and the Bard's eyes, this next step in Tea's journey has me wanting more, wanting to turn the page and see what happens next. Some events are expected, but the unexpected leaves me in awe and leads me to believe that her brother and her old friends really haven t abandoned her. I really enjoyed this book, as the author captures the strength and fears of what comes in the most beautiful way.
This is definitely one of my all time favorite series...
I did not realize how fantastic this book would be! It really has accelerated the action from Book 1! Things I Love - Tea is a ferocious MC, bursting with love and loyalty for her companions, love so strong that she will literally do the impossible to shield them all from the evils of the world. She brings such joy to my black heart. Tea's love life is everything - Tamara's. I can only say FI-NA-LLY!!! FOX's love of life is legendary. ADORBS : Zombie-love goals are always achievable. I can 't. Halad is the book's MVP, because even when everyone is all against Tea, all Khalad has to do is brush those pretty eyes, and everyone just concedes. -Lihk was the most charming and shy and adorable lady ever and every moment of Lihk was Chef's kiss* -all the Daevas snapping around tea like gigantic puppies needing cuddles and treats.
   YA fantasy world
I give this book 3 out of 5 stars and maybe 3.5 out of 5. I read the first book, The Bone Witch, and was a little confused. It could be because I don 't read a lot of fantasy, I used to enjoy reading supernatural witchcraft type of novels, but now as I aging, enjoy more psychological types. This book was much better than the first, as I found it more into the story of Tea and Kalen, the respect and romance budding between these two. I read it last year and didn 't review it right away. I have to say that the story did not stick with me and sometimes I find it confusing to go back and forth from the past to the present. I could finish this book and read the series with Book 3, as I hate the series not ending.
   Another great story!
I gave the heart forget all 5 stars. It is beautifully written with lots of details. It does not overwhelm the reader though. As she works through this part of her story, pieces start falling together and old lies are known. Tea is still in a never ending battle with herself about the good Vs. surrendering to the darkrot. I loved the opportunity to know what was happening from the first book through different perspectives. It has pushed the storyline forward while it was in the past. I would say that is not such an easy thing to do for a writer.
   Slow and confusing...
It has a number of great names starting with the letter K. You have to concentrate to not mix them up. The plot speed is very slow and with the names so close to each other I can 't even list them for you. Eventually, it was overwhelming to me and that is not usual. I read an advanced reader's copy of this book voluntarily from Net Galley. All opinions expressed are entirely my own and this review is left from my own free will.
