The Insanity of God is the personal and lifelong journey of an ordinary couple from rural Kentucky who thought they were going on just your ordinary missionary pilgrimage, but discovered it would be anything but. After spending over six hard years doing relief work in Somalia, and experiencing life where it looked like God had turned away completely and He was clueless about the tragedies of life, the couple had a crisis of faith and left Africa asking God, Does the gospel work anywhere when it is really a hard place? It sure didn't work in Somalia.
Nik recalls that, God had always been so real to me, to Ruth, and to our boys. But was He enough, for the utter weariness of soul I experienced at that time, in that place, under those circumstances? It is a question that many have asked and one that, if answered, can lead us to a whole new world of faith. How does faith survive, let alone flourish in a place like the Middle East? How can good truly overcome such evil? How do you maintain hope when all is darkness around you? How can we say greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world when it may not be visibly true in that place at that time? How does anyone live an abundant, victorious Christian life in our world's toughest places? Can Christianity even work outside of Western, dressed-up, ordered nations? If so, how? Even the Lord's disciples found it an eye opener to where people are called to work for the Lord. Thanks for the great writing, and I enjoyed hearing about this couples journey as they followed God's leadership, he said. This was a great movie, said Blair, who also was able to view it at her church. I recommend this book to anyone.

This is a very personal story about the lives of Nik and his missionary family, said Dr. William Boynton, a professor at the University of Utah. Whether they have been effective or perhaps even made a difference in the lives of those sent to be missionaries because the results they witness were not what they had imagined, he said. It was a great read, well before his second book The Insanity of Obedience came out. You can have a better insight into the mind of a missionary who perseveres and asks God the tough questions this book is for you. His disciples, he said, were "filled with the Lord's blood."

I dislike the idea and the implication behind the title. We are talking about God, the Lord.

A testimony that should motivate Christians to rethink their commitment to the Great Commission!
Derived From Web , Jan 16, 2022
We are so blessed in Western nations, it was a good account of deplorable condition people face in other countries, the struggles those believers face just to exercise their faith, he said. There are also accounts of persecutions that exist in so many places and the strong faith of those whose lives are at risk because they choose God.

A great book, said Frey. I've recommended it to a pastor who doesn't recommend books. The book is also available in hardback, priced at $16.95. I am giving my copy to a friend whose kids are getting the kindle version. One of the best books I've ever read.

This does not describe a stroll in the park while handing out leaflets!

This is a powerful story of the unusual courage and strength demonstrated by people of strong faith who have gone and are still going into dangerous regions of the world to share their heartfelt and mind-controlled faith with others, he said. The situations they encounter and the usual comforts of life that I take for granted must be abandoned to accomplish what these true servants of God do - and can only be accomplished when God is prevailed upon and joins in with them to achieve His will. An extraordinarily informative and thought-provoking read. The book is also available in hardback, priced at $27.95. His Holiness theodore Papa E.V. was present at the dedication.

God is in all and over all.

I was riveted by the stories of believers who have experienced persecution and are now living out their faith. He continued, "The Lord kept them and showed them that He was strong." Mr. McCall also thanked the author for being "challenging and changed." He asked me to spend more time in prayer and to see the opportunities that God has sent my way as divine encounters. He gave thanks that day, "for the Lord's work in every way." A lot of things about this movie made me wonder if Harrison Ford was really that good.

Humbling. Convicting
Derived From Web , May 26, 2019
Some have told me how persecution strengthens Christian believers. I have been thankful to live in a country where that doesn't happen, he said. Now I am humbled by the realization of what I have in my country and take for granted, he said. I am sorrowful for taking these freedoms for granted, he said. I pray that I will be able to let this message work in my life.

Best Book!
Derived From Web , May 27, 2018
I am still digesting all that was said, so I cannot write a review. This book will have me reading over and over again. I'm not a big fan of ending stories. The challenges are real and necessary for our Lord and Savior, Paul. Oh, that we could share the light of JESUS with the persecuted, as those that do not have a voice. Yes, I can't do the book justice in a short essay, just will say, "Read it!"
