Belongs in EVERY home and heart.
One of the best children's books is The invisible string. It speaks to so many different types of separation. I have bought many copies to share with others. It's one of those books that spans generations and provides a sense of warmth, comfort, and connection. The author shared a beautiful piece of art. It's recommended for people who are experiencing loss, anxiety, separation, minor events and major events.
   Book is so perfect
The book makes it easy to explain things. When a friend moves to my house because her dad lives 7 hours away, it made her feel good about the distance.
   Love this book
Whether someone is in heaven or miles away, this book is written beautifully. It describes the bond that is always there. The pictures are cute and I would recommend this book to all kids. It's!
   Great book
I read this with my 4 year old daughter and she says she will remember our invisible string whenever she goes to school. This is a warning to those who don't want to introduce kids to religion yet, because there is a mention of heaven in the book.
Such a great book to help kiddos with loss!
I've given this book to many more people since I first read it in a school when a young classmate tragically passed. It helps to think there's a connection to the ones we've lost. It's a very sincere message if you want to help. Very thankful for it!
Wonderful resource for explaining and coping with death
I needed help explaining to my kids about death after buying this. My kids connected immediately when it was mentioned that the invisible string reaching to Heaven was a connection to death. It made us feel better. A friend recommended this to us and I am grateful for that.
Great book about processing loss as a child
This is a great book. There is a family with a single mom. It helps teach a child about loss. It can be death of a loved one or a divorce. It helps a parent talk about separation and loss. My five year old helped us talk about death in a way that helped her process it.
Wonderful way for kids to never feel alone
This book is great for kids who are separated from their family or friends. I used it when my daughter was about to start kindergarten and it helped. It's!
   Very sweet story
The story is about a mom telling her twins about an invisible string that connects them to her. It can be used for a child who is having trouble with separation or for a child who has lost a loved one. There is only one mention of the string connecting to someone who has previously passed if you are losing it for the loss of a loved one. If that makes you uncomfortable, that might be something you need to think about. It worked for us because we are a Christian family. It was bought to help our kids deal with the loss of their grandpa. They were helped so much by it. The entire book is not focused on loss as a central theme. It is the twins who come up with the example of how the string still connects them despite their differences.
   Beautifully addresses Ambiguous Loss
I can't recommend this book enough. I bought it to give to prospective adoptive parents a book to read to their child to help them with their ambiguous loss from their adoption. I bought a copy for my family to read to, and a copy for my nieces and nephews. I prefer the illustrations from the paperback copy over the hardcover. I wish the family depicted in the story were more diverse to better represent the population with whom I work, but that is a personal preference.
