Wonderful First Bible or Bedtime Bible
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I found the Jesus Storybook Bible and I am very happy. My children love hearing me read from the book because of the beautiful illustrations. Each story has a line towards Jesus. The stories are written in a way that makes them sound good when read out loud, and that is clear enough for children to understand. Some people prefer that their children hear God's Word only from an accepted translation, and while we do read to them from traditional translations as well, I find that reading to them from this book helps captivate their attention in ways that the other versions don't. They aren't focusing on trying to understand what I'm reading because it's written to grab their attention. The stories sink in because it is so captivating. Isn't that what we want the most? For our children to fall in love with God and the story of His love for us, brought down through Jesus?

Really like how this summarizes throughout the Bible and hints in ...
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
This summarizes the Bible in a way that hints at Christ and God's wonderful plan of redemption. Our kids are reminded that they are loved by their maker in each story. We've read these stories many times over the years. Our kids memorize their favorites. Our 8 year old has moved on to more detailed Bible summaries and more just Bible reading, but this book certainly played a large role in the kids falling in love with God's Word. The book is a gift for a friend or family who is having a baby.

Great Children's Bible - A Family Favorite
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I would recommend this bible to anyone looking for a good bible for children. It's very well written with the intention to stay close to the original text while making it very engaging for the younger audience. The illustrations are wonderful and are a great accompaniment to every chapter since this is what a child will be looking at while the story is being read to them. Sometimes artwork is unrelated to the story and will be a pretty picture on the side or a watermark on a page, but you can tell that everything in this book was done with careful and masterful intention. We have bought other bibles in the past, but this one stands out from the rest and has surpassed our expectations.

Perfect for kids or adults!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
My children are ages 3 and 6. I couldn't have found a better book. The illustrations are very easy to understand for kids and it's written in a way that is easy to comprehend. I am 35 years old and a new Christian. I read this thing cover to cover and it helped me get a better grasp of the Bible. I was able to understand the tie between the old testament and the new. The bible shows you how the old testament shows Jesus coming. If you don't have kids, buy this for someone who does.

This book is a "must have" addition for anyone with young children or an elderly person who likes to be read to.
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
The anticipation of the birth of Christ is a unique part of the age old bible stories. Every old testament account has a whisper of Jesus. The end of the tower of Babel is called A giant staircase to heaven, because God knew that people couldn't get back to heaven on their own. People didn't need a staircase. They needed someone to rescue them. The way back to heaven wasn't a staircase. It was a person. Heaven would have to come down to people because they couldn't reach it. It would be a lovely book. Great illustrations. If you have a child or elderly person in your family who likes to read a good story, then please let me know. You need this book. A book for a baby shower.

Great kids Bible!
Derived From Web , Mar 29, 2021
I received this as a gift for my oldest's baptism and passed along the tradition of purchasing this book for her child. I've read through the whole thing with my son and we continue to re-read stories. It's written well for both kids and adults, and the illustrations are great.

Love this book!!
Derived From Web , Feb 17, 2020
The way these stories are written makes me cry. It shows the over-arching theme of God's redemption story in every story, and it totally shows that in each one. It's cool! It is a children's bible story book and is great for all ages. !

Wish I could have loved it!

I wanted to read this book. It gets a lot of great reviews. I can't get past the liberties taken by the author and the illustrator. The whole package makes the Bible seem like a religious fairy story and not a book to be taken seriously.

Not a Bible. Major liberties taken by author
Derived From Web , Jun 13, 2019
My son didn't like the Bible. He had a negative opinion from the first page. We have read many other storybook type Bibles. He developed a passion for reading the Bible after loving each one. This was the fifth one. That is not in the Bible, he said immediately. I promised to return it for a better one after the first few pages. He thought they were not real. He was insulted by the man. The book was more about God than a children's bible, that's what I felt as a pastor. The book is not a Bible because it is grounded in Scripture. The author takes liberties with the stories in the book. A children's book about God.

Strays From The Word!
Derived From Web , Apr 2, 2018
My husband and I both agree that this is not something we will be reading to our children. It's very disappointing how simple scripture was distorted. This is not what he said.
