A Netflix Original series

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling series, with over 5 million copies in print

Terrifyingly fun Delivers big thrills and even bigger laughs.--Jeff Kinney, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Ever since the monster apocalypse hit town, average thirteen year old Jack Sullivan has been living in his tree house, which he's armed to the teeth with catapults and a moat, not to mention video games and an endless supply of Oreos and Mountain Dew scavenged from abandoned stores. But Jack alone is no match for the hordes of Zombies and Winged Wretches and Vine Thingies, and especially not for the eerily intelligent monster known only as Blarg. So Jack builds a team: his dorky best friend, Quint; the reformed middle school bully, Dirk; Jack's loyal pet monster, Rover; and Jack's crush, June. With their help, Jack is going to slay Blarg, achieve the ultimate Feat of Apocalyptic Success, and be average no longer Can he do it?

Told in a mixture of text and black-and-white illustration, this is the perfect book for any kid who's ever dreamed of starring in his or her own comic book or video game. And then grab the rest of the series, now a New York Times bestseller

My son is a pretty common 12yo boy
My review will sound genuine, as it was bought as my review. My son is 12 years old. He's always on the move, getting dirty and paying war with any action figure he can find when he's not playing video games. For example, he can't get enough minecraft. He finished this book in a few weeks after I gave it as a birthday gift. I've gotten him to read a book without it seeming to be punishment. He loved the book and was able to express his excitement and mystery in his voice. It has been enjoyable. Thank you Max Brallier.
for writing this amazing book. I was having the hardest time getting ...
Max Brallier wrote an amazing book. I was having the hardest time getting my son to read, he got this book two days ago and he finished it last night. He was so excited talking about this book, it made me happy because I never saw him excited about a book. He was so disappointed that he had to wait until August for the next part. Thank you Mr. Brallier again.
   Great book! Great series!
The book was purchased for our son. We always read at night. It was one of the favorites for him and us. Great book! The series was great. We pre-order with each release.
My child loves this book. She just entered 3rd grade and is a little behind in reading so she does not read this book alone but we read it together and she is always begging for one more chapter!
It is very interesting. I like to read for my son. He likes illustrations and stories. He didn't have time to watch a series before reading the book. He said that he liked the book more.
Fun First Book in a Series
Jack Sullivan is a normal middle schooler, except for the fact that he is in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. He spends his day killing zombies, photographing monsters, and exploring his wasteland of a town. Jack is enjoying his life but he is alone. How long can a Middle Schooler be isolated? Surely there is more than one human out there. This was the first book in a series. I was hooked from the very beginning by Max Brallier. All of my 5th grade boys absolutely loved this series. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in apocalyptic literature.
   A boys dream book
We loved this book and are going to read the next one. I think the placement of the ads helped my son connect with the book. He was excited every time he heard a new place in the book. We read the book in about 2 weeks and then did a chapter or two at a time. He was always excited to read the book, even though he didn't get excited about reading.
Paid for book, will not download
This one will not download because of the good money. I have a child who cannot read the first book in the series.
Non reader kid LOVED THIS BOOK!
My nephew is 11 years old and he hates to read. His teacher has tried a lot of books and thinks they are boring. I was asked by my sister to find a book that she thought he would read. I ordered this one and sent it to him. He finished it last weekend after receiving it. It has only been six days, six days of school and sports practice. That's how much he loved it. He has told me how funny it is and how he can't put it down. He took it outside for school and sat and read. This book is for a Komodo in your life. I just ordered the second one and hope he loves it.
   Zombie fun
I thought I would write an adventure book for my son, but it turned into a love of zombies. It was easy for him to get into this because of the many books and TV shows with zombies. The kids in the book are smart. Most of the story in the series is about the kids learning how to survive the zombies, even though there is a real super villain. The book is very imaginative and we want to read the next chapter. Don't worry about the title.
