Book Overview

How to make home your family's favorite place to be . . . all year long.
Does your home sometimes feel like just a place to eat, sleep, and change clothes on the way to the next activity? Do you long for home to mean more than a place where you stash your stuff? Wouldn't you love it to become a haven of warmth, rest, and joy . . . the one place where you and your family can't wait to be?

There is good news waiting for you in the pages of The Lifegiving Home. Every day of your family's life can be as special and important to you as it already is to God. In this unique book designed to help your family enjoy and celebrate every month of the year together, you'll discover the secrets of a life-giving home from a mother who created one and her daughter who was raised in it: popular authors Sally and Sarah Clarkson. Together they offer a rich treasure of wise advice, spiritual principles, and practical suggestions. You'll embark on a new path to creating special memories for your children; establishing home-building and God-centered traditions; and cultivating an environment in which your family will flourish. (Don't miss the companion piece, The Lifegiving Home Experience.)

   Great read!
The book gives practical advice on how to create a loving home atmosphere. I really enjoyed that we were given the perspective of the experienced mother and the daughter who grew up in a life-giving home environment, Raymond said. It was refreshing to have both perspectives, he said. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

It's a book that speaks to the heart. I have found it to be one of the most inspirational books I have ever read.

Apparently she's figured out the formula to raising perfect children...
HBO said it would renew the contract after 18 months. Thousands of years of people trying to perfect parenting have come and gone. Sally may have done it, but she couldn't stop giggling. It's just too nasty a formula, I seriously bristle at any do it this way. nan There is no such thing as a perfect child. He also said that "despite the anguish" of His children, "He will keep His children safe." He says if you love your children, are raising them to know their Savior and are simply doing your best, you are doing great. Let the music do the talking, Mr. Rule told the judge.

This is a book I'll come back to!
This book is so much more. It's great to be back to what's important in life -- spending time with our family, he said. There are quite a few ideas I'll be using with my family that are just too good to pass up.

Apparently it's all about a candle.
I did. Don't worry, I'm going to keep fighting, he said. The whole thing is all about how perfectly raised her children, how perfect their adventures in the world were, and how she lights her candles every day all day. There are people coming over, they're all coming over. A CANDLE. Whether you're eating a meal or snacking, you're probably not eating healthy. A CANDLE. A CANDLE. There's a candle for that too!I mean, don't get me wrong, I like a good candle in my life, but just... C'mon!Oh and in just about every section theirs some sort of obviously exaggerated, highly unlikely, perfectly worded quote from her kids. She writes it as if kids actually talk that way, which is a very difficult task to believe.

Great ideas to ponder with regard creating a haven for ...
I'm thinking about creating a haven for my young family and also as we begin to provide foster care for young children.
