Beautiful book, just not for me.

This is a beautiful book that tells the history of cast iron and lodge, but not what I anticipated. The recipes are for many pieces that I don 't have. I should have paid better attention to the description.

Great Book
Derived From Web , May 18, 2022
Okay, I like the way this is written with great history sections and facts about the cast iron skillets that are very interesting. The font of the writing is very small in some of the book, and I wear bifocals. It is not easy for me to read some of the paragraphs that are slant or smaller than the other paragraphs. I also noticed that the print is more prominent in the inner folds of the pages than in the outer section of the pages, so that I flatten the folds constantly to read the small print. This is the only aspect of the book that bothers me remotely. I really enjoy the book for its variety and the diversity of content.

A great cookbook, well written, well illustrated. Love the fantastic side stories and almost all recipes look small. Likely, I never try anything half, but there are some I'm jazzed to use.

Most of the recipes are for a 10" skillet?
Derived From Web , Jul 4, 2021
I was thrilled for this book, because I love my cast iron. Right away, I found a problem with a 12 panet and most of the recipes are for a 10. To make all recipes in the book, you need almost every pan lodge recipe, 6-12 skillet, 9 skillet, 10 skillet, 10-12 skillet, Dutch oven, each individual cornbread and muffin pan, etc. I wish I had the space in my kitchen to store and maintain 30 different iron pans, but I don 't and I really don 't want to move about 500 lbs of pans for my 12 - skillet and hope for the best. I used the book so that I am only $7.
