Book Overview

Celebrate nature with Dr. Seuss and the Lorax in this classic picture book about sustainability and protecting the environment

I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.

Dr. Seuss's beloved story teaches kids to treat the planet with kindness and stand up and speak up for others. Experience the beauty of the Truffula Trees and the danger of taking our earth for granted in a story that is timely, playful, and hopeful. The book's final pages teach us that just one small seed, or one small child, can make a difference.

Printed on recycled paper, this book is the perfect gift for Earth Day and for any child--or child at heart--who is interested in recycling, advocacy, and the environment, or just loves nature and playing outside.

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.

Pretty much all the stuff you need to know is in Dr. Seuss. -President Barack Obama

Great book in a large size
This is a great book. I like the larger size of the book. A positive message is conveyed in this story. The illustrations are fun and keep my kids busy. The book is a little long so I have a hard time keeping my youngest child's attention during the whole story, but our toddler loves it! This book is perfect for families with children at home. The book would be a great gift for a child.

   My favorite Dr. Seuss book
My favorite book is Dr. The consequences of abusing the environment should be read by every child. The story is fun and has a powerful message. I buy these for all the kids.

   I do not support Censorship
Best books ever! You can not stay out of politics. I canceled my membership at Amazon because I have ordered a lot of things there. I have ordered a lot of things from Amazon but they have stopped.

   A classic
My daughter's favorite book gets a lot of air time in our house. I like a classic book like this one, but it's a little long. When the Once-ler tells the Lorax to shut up, I don't like it, but we just make sure to read it quickly in hopes that it won't be repeated.

May be too much for compassionate younger children.
I want my son to learn from this beautiful book. If your son is a huge fan of Dr. Seuss, you should be aware that this book has a message about the consequences of not being sustainable and taking care of our planet's natural resources. It may have been too much for my child. At the end of the book, he just stared at the last page for a moment, then burst out crying, saying he didn't like the book. He cried for a long time. He was worried about the animals. The other Dr. Seuss books leave him feeling happy. When he is a bit older, I will put it away and try to read it with him.

Great book for the whole family
It's always a classic. I give the book to my friends who are expecting a child. A good story to teach kids about the consequences of using our natural resources too much. The book was in good condition when it arrived.

which I alwayswatch with her and we both love it
I always watch the movie with my daughter because we both love it. She received this as a Christmas gift. The book doesn't talk about Thneedville at all. This could make a kid confused. The book was written in rhymes and helped me understand the movie. The book was good, we prepared it often.

   Relevant book for all ages
This book is more than just a children's book. This should be a staple in every family's home. It's almost impossible that it was written in 1971 because it's so relevant to the world today. Everyone needs to read the environmental issues. For a very young child, get it so they can begin to learn responsibility.

   Text printed upside down
The book is upside down. I bought this for a young child, but I can't give them an upside down book. There is no quality control on this product. The book is printed on recycled paper. The quality of the book is generally good, save for some pages with white space where the printer doesn't seem to have lined up correctly.

My favorite Dr. Seuss book and funny thing is that
The message of the book is still very much current almost 50 years later. The content makes my kids ask questions, as it's hard for them to get all the details in the book. It is an addition to everyone's library.
