Excellent book

I love this book absolutely! '' The illustrations and overall quality is amazing and the overall quality is amazing. A lot of great information for elementary readers. I purchased this book for an Earth Day story time collection and decided to select one for my own children. The book is full of funny facts and information. A great book to introduce the concepts of life cycles, tree functions and conservation. Also introduces children to basic non-fiction book terms such as glossary, index, chapter table, and even citing sources important to learn. Overall, a very great book for ages 5 and up. I think those with reluctant readers or children who have a harder time with large paragraphs would really enjoy the book, since it has sporadically placed small sections on each page. Can easily read on each page only one or two sections before moving on.

Beautiful and informative
Derived From Web , Sep 26, 2020
This is a scientific book and has a good deal of visually stunning information. My kindergartener finds it interesting, though I read bits and pieces to him at a time. My 4th grader enjoys reading it on her own-especially the way it is divided into smaller excerpts. I like how each 2-sided spread addresses a different topic. It is perfect for my children's age. Not too much information for K and just enough to cause my 4th grader to investigate an idea further in other field guides or other books. I wanted to note that my version has been edited since some previous reviews, where oak leaves were mislabeled as maple. The mine states oak correctly.

Possible misinformation

I had to stop reading this book because it appears to me that an oak leaf is labeled as a maple leaf. How can I continue reading after that? I ’m going to send this book back again, and I’m sending this book to the back.

The best book ever!
Derived From Web , Jul 10, 2020
I love this book OMG I love this book. It is great for all ages. It is great for all. I bought this book for my 2 nephews a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old. It is a big book, so we read it in sections. We had so much fun putting it down and going outside to look and study trees. The pictures are beautiful and cover everything. What I loved the most is how it talks about how they communicate with each other. I loved it so much that I bought 2 more for a 5 yr old and a 8 yr old and mailed them out. I would have paid twice as much for this book and would still think I got a good deal.

A spectacular story with beautiful imagery. The paper on the spine of this book cracked the seam on one side after the first time we looked at it.

Multiple Glaring Mistakes
Derived From Web , Apr 3, 2020
This book is incredibly beautiful and my son loves it. However, there are several mistakes in the book that people should be aware of leaves and seeds labeled incorrectly. If not for the mistakes this book would have earned five stars, but such obvious mistakes can not be overlooked.

The pages of this book are beautiful.
Derived From Web , Aug 11, 2019
This was such a delightful non-fiction read. The pages of this book are beautiful : A mix of real images, vibrant illustrations and patchwork layering made each page feel like a nature scavenger hunt. I was also impressed by the plethora of information presented about trees, from the different species of trees, to where they grow and how they grow, and how trees fit into the inner workings of the Earth. Here there is so much information. I could easily see this as an excellent supplement to a natural science or botany class for young children. This could also be great for an Arbor Day or Earth Day lesson, a lesson for the year, and so much more. In any case, I learned a few things from reading this book and actually enjoyed looking through the pages to see what was there. Highly recommended.

Lovely Book....
Derived From Web , Jul 20, 2019
As far as the illustrations go, this book is so lovely that it warms my book loving heart. It is a beautiful book and a joyful thing to see! It is also full of fun and interesting things to do. There were some things said that makes me skeptical, though. It is stated that a tree can tell what kind of animal is eating its leaves by touching its spit and that it can tell if its neighbors are the same species of tree by tasting the roots. Even if I don't believe everything here, it is still great for encouraging more study and conversation with my children. If you like children's books with beautiful and informative illustrations, this is definitely worth having.
