Book Overview

A deliciously dark, elegant, utterly compulsive read--with a twist that blew my mind. I loved this even more than I loved The Silent Patient and that's saying something
--Lucy Foley, New York Times bestselling author of The Guest List

Alex Michaelides hits a home run in his sophomore effort. The Maidens is a page-turner of the first order.
--David Baldacci

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Silent Patient comes a spellbinding tale of psychological suspense, weaving together Greek mythology, murder, and obsession, that further cements Michaelides as a major player in the field (Publishers Weekly).

   A Quick and fun read
I loved the first book by this author so was super excited for this one to come out. While it was a quick read and kept me engaged, there was some lose ends that did not end up wrapping up super well together. While I could not put it down, there was a lack of cohesion at the end.
I read The Maidens as part of my book club. I thought it was a good story but had too many random characters that didn’t add to the story and I honestly felt like they were more of a distraction. Maybe that’s what they were meant to do. I enjoy a good plot twist but the one in this story left me seriously wondering.
