THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELER is now available in paperback This timeless tale by the incomparable Kate DiCamillo, complete with stunning illustrations by Bagram Ibatoulline, honors the enduring power of love. (Age 7 and up)
Once, in a house on Egypt Street, there lived a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. The rabbit was very pleased with himself, and for good reason: he was owned by a girl named Abilene, who treated him with the utmost care and adored him completely. And then, one day, he was lost. Kate DiCamillo takes us on an extraordinary journey, from the depths of the ocean to the net of a fisherman, from the top of a garbage heap to the fireside of a hoboes' camp, from the bedside of an ailing child to the bustling streets of Memphis. And along the way, we are shown a true miracle -- that even a heart of the most breakable kind can learn to love, to lose, and to love again.Frequently Asked Questions About The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane

The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane

I love this book. Kate Dicamillo is a fantastic children's author. The way she writes is just beautiful, she's a wonderful story teller. Any other book I've read by Kate Dicamillo I've loved and this is no exception. I like the artwork too. This isn't just for children. I read this aloud to my Mama, she loved it too. This has quickly become one of my favorite books. I highly recommend this book! I ordered this book on SecondSale in hardcover in good condition. It was almost like new. No writing on the inside, no scratches or tears, very good condition. I love this site second sale!

Kate DiCamillo is one of my current favorite children's book authors
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I like this book a lot. Kate DiCamillo is a wonderful children's book author. I plan to read every single one of her books. My niece and nephew are very fond of all of them. I didn't think the content of the book was excessive. The girl I read it with is 9 years old. There are themes of deathdying and neglect. The majority of kids stories have at least one of those. I believe it depends on the child. This is a great story, I would highly recommend it.

When was the last time you read a book for "tweens"?
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
While sitting in a hospital room with a dying patient, it happened. He liked books written for kids or the work of Kate DiCamillo. Kate DiCamillio's artwork and descriptions of the characters in The Magical Journey of Edward Tulane made me want to read the rest of the book. As the patient was in a comatose state yet aware of sound and touch, the book became real, as I was on the journey with Edward, all so alive with amusing and sometimes painful characters. As I read, there were many messages about my life. A story of hope, love, the gift of giving and ability to receive is a story to be experienced by all generations. A thoughtful gift. Kate DiCAMillo is an excellent story teller.

An amazing and beautiful story of the journey of a China ...
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
An amazing and beautiful story of a rabbit's journey. He learns of his true worth when he is fixed up. Edward is just a toy, but he feels, hears and sees what is going on around him. Not really sure when to read this, it was years ago. Someone else posted that I remember a lot of feelings and thoughts while reading it. It is highly recommended to read to children or adults.

Not suitable for all children
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
We decided to read this book together because our family has enjoyed other books by Kate DiCamillo. It is a touching book, but I think parents need to be aware that it can be rather dark and upsetting to younger or more sensitive readers. The description of a young girl's death was skipped because our sons did not need it. The journey to get there may not be one for your child to take until they're older.

A story of hope!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I found this short read to be enjoyable. There is a lot to learn from the mail character Edward, an animal. The book takes one on a journey as one experiences each adventure with Edward. A clever way to get people to look into the heart. As Edward was lost, then found, then lost again, buried under mounds of garbage, I couldn't help but think of my own journey. I must be a good candidate for hope. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a light read.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane Book
Hannah , Oct 20, 2021
I read this book when I was young, and even after all these years I love it. This is a story about a rabbit who is porcelain. The story is told from his point of view and for an inanimate object, he is quite alive. He is very vain and spoiled. One day he gets lost from his family. This book tells his story and his journey all over the world. He experiences many different things and learns valuable life lessons.

Disturbing book with no place in a child's library
Derived From Web , Nov 9, 2020
The book is not suitable for children. It is depressing and has no purpose. This author, who believes the world is dark, seems determined to disturb the minds of young readers with books like this and TigerRising. My daughter asked me to throw the book away because she didn't want it in her library. I made my objections known to the school because it was required reading in her school.
