Book Overview

The Wheels on the Bus, a perennial favorite of the toddler set, gets a uniquely Sesame Street spin in this very funny Little Golden Book. Elmo, Grover, and Cookie Monster board a bus and meet some wacky passengers, including a furball with a boombox, frogs, cows, a brass band, and a family of yipping Martians. The sound effects in the chorus reflect the voices and activities of the passengers in a way that will have little ones--and adults--laughing out loud as they join in the song.

Great book but Elmo is not in it!
Great, but be aware that if you are an Elmo fan, despite being pictured on the cover, Elmo is NOT in this book! One of our favorites is still. Our daughter loves the nifty variations of one of her favorite songs, which have now become part of the verses we sing even when not reading the book.

Cute book to Wheels on the Bus song
It is pretty much the song Wings on the Bus '' in a book. It has a Seasame Street tilt, with one of the lines being Coo-ooo-kie, coo-ooo-kie ''. There are wipers that go'swish swish, babies going ''wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah swish ''''swish swish swish swish wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah, parents... There are some other ones like the band playing Umm paa paa '' and the Grouches ''bam bam bam bam with trash can lids ''. My children seem to enjoy it and have asked a lot for it. As long as you know what you are getting and want a book version of Wheels on the bus, you are going to be happy. A hopefully you sing better than me for your children's sake.

   Adorable fun!
Book cut!!! Remember the Muppet, who always gets frustrated because waiter Grover messes his order a bit. This book is about his experience on the bus with a burp-spatter baby monster, a cookie eating cookie monster, a loud boom box, can banging grouches, an oompapa band, aliens and more! Finally he exclaims What kind of bus is this? I get off at the next stop! Then he hails a taxi, can you guess who is the taxi driver? My kids and I really enjoyed reading this book!

Wheels on the bus, monster version. Kid loves it.
My son loves to ride on the bus. It is his favorite song so that it was perfect. I thought it was a regular story, but it is actually the monster version of the wheels on the bus. Perfect :

   Not that great
Wheels on the bus go round and round by Sesame St. Not the same fun as the monsters at the end of the book.

   A read-aloud favorite
This story is a take on The Wheels on the Bus, but has funny situations on the way. There is a rider who finally has enough of the crazy antics and gets off the bus, only to flag a taxi driven by Grover. For a 4-year old, comic gold is needed.

   Cute book!
I would have awarded this 5 - stars if Elmo appeared somewhere in the book ( besides the cover ). My 2 year old asked specifically for this Bc, she loves Cookie 'Elmo, and now can only focus on not seeing Elmo anywhere. That is like being false advertising for an autistic 2 year old! If you like, you can always buy another book.

   Sad toddler
How misleading... even my two year old realized that she had been taken on this one. We got there quickly enough, and NO Elmo. Elmo on the cover is great!
