   Brit Bennet's Debut
After reading The Vanishing Half, I was very excited to see what her debut was all about. In the same fashion as TVH, Bennet winds time and characters together beautifully. The opening of each chapter with The Mother's thoughts led to some laughs but also grounded each chapter. The characters came to life easily and the story covered many themes of motherhood in unexpected ways. Her writing style is easily digested with beautiful lines interspersed.
