   Very Repetitive
I believe that this book should have been greatly edited and could have been highly scholarly ''. It has a lot of repetitions, and I particularly did not appreciate the supposed examples that the author uses. They were not sensationalized and did not deal with the NPD. I avoided reading them after I found a few of them concerning and in general, much less NPD related. This reading makes you think that everyone can be labeled or fit into a category and no one is normal.
   Grateful for this book!
Overnight, this book changed my life. It brought clarity and insight into the manipulation and abuse that I suffered with a pathological narcissist father every day of my life. It gave me the freedom to reside in MY life. Being an adult child of a narcissist is brutal torture that takes away your sanity and eats away at your core. Walking away is hard, but change of life is possible in the most positive way. If you want to read this book, cover to cover, if you want freedom and clarity. Merci beaucoup! Hey, There Were! ''
One of the best on the issue of Narcissistic Abuse in families...
This is one of the most comprehensive summaries of books on narcissistic abuse to date. This is one of the very few sources on this subject, acknowledging that two narcissists can in fact exist in long-term relationships, but have profound costs attached to other family members. It gives special attention to the narcissistic family '', children of narcissists, adult partners of narcissists and recovery from narcissistic abuse. Probably the most recommended style ''.
The most comprehensive read of a most indidious, unseen abuse
It is such an insidious, devastating, unseen form of abuse that can lead to serious health problems, substance abuse, and even early death. It is an abuse that spans from birth through childhood to adulthood, as it often goes unrecognized, the abuser manipulates and evades any form of responsibility. Julia's book is truly the most comprehensive, enlightening read and chance to heal!
Has helped me and my children begin to heal
This book is the best after reading at least 25 books on Narcissism after reading at least 25. It has given us deep understanding and insights into the realities of being in a narcissistic home, and helped us all heal. I can not recommend it highly enough ''. It is a must read book.
Best book on the subject - survivors read it!!!
I have narcissistic abuse '' read many articles and books. However, this book is the one that has provided most of the clarity and validity on the subject. This book is designed and executed in a way so that the reader can identify with what they experienced and gain clarity on how to cope with their future towards health and healing. I highly recommend '' this book. I feel more hopeful and validated ''.
Really great guide to a difficult subject
This is the book I wish existed 15 years ago, when I was in an extremely stressful relationship with a narcissist. At the time, the information and resources available now simply did not exist. This is such a comprehensive and well-written guide. I devoured it, which was easy because it is well-organized and concise. Although I did a lot of visual emotional work, I still had a much-needed emotional response when I read the section on codependency and narcissism. I would recommend this book to anyone who was raised in a narcissistic family or found their narcissist later ( or more than likely ). The Narcissist in Your Life is full of powerful tools and insights, from which anyone could benefit. The best book I read on this topic is the topic!
