   Matched my skill level
Any puzzles edited by Will Shortz are going to be good. You can count on Thar. While I am pretty good with crosswords, I am not an advanced puzzler, but a talented hacker. I picked up the medium level so that I am a great match for my skill level. Some of the clues are difficult, but not so difficult that the fun goes away. I love it when I am challenged by a puzzle over which I can eventually achieve victory. I recommend this collection for people who enjoy a puzzle that offers a challenge that can be met.

   Just okay
Dated material is worn. Heavy reliance on the knowledge of celebrities. Many puzzles with gimmicks without clues, e.g. two letters in a box or misspelling words. You might like it, but it annoys me.

   Essential Information is Missing
None of the crosswords have titles, though many of the clues refer to the puzzle's theme. Additionally, Puzzle #4 has the theme of missing a t '', but never expressly says this. It becomes apparent only when a discouraged puzzler, such as myself, starts looking for answers. For A COUPLE EXAMPLESSPOILER ALERT For instance, sect instead of sect, len instead of lent, ransit instead of transit. Disappointing, not medium. But not either really hard, but rather hard. The puzzles seem more like they are unfair and nonsensical.

   No themes!
As you know, knowing subjects is very enjoyable and adds to the enjoyment of solving, but can be critical especially when the creator wants words to be misspelled, added or subtracted for a puzzle's purpose. Using a puzzle without a stated theme can be very unfair. Where did Mr. Jones go on Earth? Shorts include them not!

Hoping it would add to my knowledge
I orI did not like this mystery book. I must be a dope because I did know many answers that were asked. What fun was that? I threw it away. I threw it ''. I really thought that I would learn some things, but it was not what I was looking for.

   Awful Book!
This book was not of medium level. Many of the questions were deliberately misleading and could not possibly be answered. After battling through 20 puzzles, I threw the book out.

   Challenging enough to be entertaining
The size is perfect for traveling on a plane or waiting in the dentist's office. It is just challenging enough to be doable and not so hard that it adds to the stress level in the afore-mentioned situations. The paper is very low in grade and doesn't take kindly to erasures. In all, I am pleased with my purchase.

   Regret purchase bad product
I started xword puzzles only recently, but am a 40-year veteran teacher with a Master's degree. Good '', I thought, this would be a medium purchase based on the Medium '' descriptor. False advertising is false. False ''. First of all, the font is very small, which makes it more difficult to see even with my reading glasses on. More importantly, the clues and answers are very difficult and frustrating for me. I spent 2-3 hours on the first puzzle, having to check many cluesreferences online. Even then, the answers weren't clear. I did not finish this first puzzle, checked the answers in the back, and was still surprisedconfused by some. Ridiculous, what?! I put this product in the recycling bin -- a waste of time and money. Definitely not enjoyable for me, do not recommend based on my experience.

2
   Cheap yellowed paper
The paper color and newsprint quality makes it difficult to read and unpleasant to write in the answers. I wish I had known that this was a produced cheaply puzzle book before I bought it! I will stick with series publishers that are committed to quality.
