Book Overview

World War I is now a bloody page in American history. With nuclear holocaust killing more than a quarter-billion people worldwide and the United States just a memory, John Thomas Rourke, ex-CIA Cover Operations Officer, weapons expert, and survival authority is enduring the ultimate test. Soviet Occupation Forces have landed and must begin the pacification of America. They will start by liquidating any prominent Americans who could become a rallying point for armed resistance. The first name on the list is Samuel Chambers, the lone surviving member of the Presidential cabinet. And as the American KGB invades Texas to find Chambers, they find Rourke there as well. With his young friend Paul Rubenstein, Rourke is fighting his way back home to continue the search for his missing wife and children. Paramilitary armies, heavily armed brigands, a beautiful KGB infiltrator, an unending stream of War refugees, and a land gone mad with violence block his path. The birth of the U.S. I has begun and the quest continues for John Thomas Rourke - THE SURVIVALIST.

   Corny but...
This is the first series of survivalistprepper books that I read as a kid and it is a little corny. There is nostalgia to them. They are fun to read and remind me of when I was a kid.

When its a fictional book like this it has to keep my attention for me ...
I read a lot of survival books. This is a fictional book and it has to keep my attention for me to continue in the series and this book does that and more. In a scenario like this, the book gives you a look at how things might happen. The realism brings the book close to you and gives you the chance to be in the middle of the story.

   Great Series
3 decades ago, Jerry Ahern wrote a series called the Survivalist. America needs a hero as the soviets begin their war. John Rourke is here. The series has everything a series should have, a bad guy good guy, action and an love for country an family.

Good read and followup to Book I in this series.
Good read that continues the story. It's hard to read Book I and not read Book II.

   Not bad
It was a good read but not his best. Good enough to continue with the series. It will be more interesting if I know Jerry.

   I'm loving this series.
This series is great. I stumbled across it on audio and was glad to read it. I loved the first one and this one was no exception. 5 stars for Bod. Both were well- written and gripping. I will get to book 3.

The 2nd Novel of the Survivalist Series/El Paso/Chicago/Atlanta
The 2 nd novel of the Survivalist Series takes place in the southwest. He and his oak are forced north by nuclear areas. They saved the new President from the Russians, and Rourke continued his search for his family. He's an excellent dread for the genre.
