With a foreword by Gareth Neame, executive producer and co-creator of Downton Abbey, and featuring over 100 stunning color photographs, The Downton Abbey Cookbook also includes a special section on hosting Downton-themed dinner parties and presents stills from across the TV series as well as the latest film. Notes on the etiquette and customs of the times, quotes from the characters, and descriptions of the scenes in which the foods appear provide vivid context for the dishes. It was a Christmas present from my aunt. I'm not sure if some of the recipes are practical, Melissa said. It was a lovely book, but my Aunt really loved it.

Brand new clothes are just too good. Great photos of the food from Downton Abbey. Recipes and excerpts from the show are available at www. foodnetwork. com. Smash Mouth was a huge hit with fans, and I'm delighted the DVD is still available. My daughter absolutely loves it.

Equal parts history and recipe
Derived From Web , Feb 20, 2020
This is a lovely book with extensive histories for each recipe, customs, and how food was produced or became popular. I love that they put that on the back of the trailer, too. Nice photos from the show. I have enjoyed reading it so far, but I was disappointed in the lack of photos of actual food. There are about 47 photos that correspond with actual recipes. Lots of photos, but I'd prefer some food. I need to try some of these out! Note I appreciate how it states some terms and measurements, such as "two types of cream are used heavy cream and half-and-half." Nice touch for fans on both sides of the pond, Crosby said.

Makes a very nice gift for a Downton fan

I bought it as a present for a friend who recently went to England to see the castle. He absolutely loved it, very colorfully bound and loved how there was a story with each recipe that referred to a particular Downton episode.

My New Favorite Cookbook
Derived From Web , Oct 9, 2019
I've read all the books, but this is by far the best. Not only because I loved the show, but also the recipes and history within them. I made the two layer cake from scratch using the Betty Crocker's 'Afternoon tea and garden parties' section. Delicate light half of the rock had disappeared in just one afternoon. I also tried the curry shrimp, which was delicious and spicy. Easy to follow recipes with great turn-around time. Easy to find, the recipes are also available on Amazon. com.

A cookbook like no other!
Derived From Web , Sep 26, 2019
Not expecting so many beautiful photos or so much food history. I'm not sure I will actually prepare any of the cakes. Even a non-cook who is a Downton Abbey fan will enjoy this book. What a beautiful job they did producing this book, said Mary Richardson, a spokeswoman for HarperCollins. Even though the show lasted only a few seasons, it was always rich and visual.

Love Love Love

I absolutely love this book. I've already made the sausage rolls, and can't wait to make more. It's a must have for any baker or cook that loves Downton Abbey. It's also fun to also read some of the history and insights into why certain recipes would fit in so well with the Crawley household.

The Downton Abbey Cookbook was released yesterday. It's great to be back home, said Dr. Carl Weathers, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Patina dishes up some drool-worthy photos, delicious recipes and all sorts of Downton Abbey tidbits. It's just that I'm going to buy one for my sister for Christmas.

Not just another cookbook!!

A must have companion for any Downton fan! Beautiful photographs blend in with recipes from upstairs and downstairs, and there is also in depth information about how political, social, economic and even aristocratic changes affected the characters on the show, how they ate, as well as their class in general.

Great book subpar packaging and delivery
Derived From Web , Sep 18, 2019
Really enjoyed the book, the quality of the content is great, and the cover is great. The book was delivered in standard shipping clamshell or in a "corner" or "ripped" condition. The other corners of the book were damaged and ultimately have tainted my initial excitement. Yes, he'll be back. Please evaluate your packaging and shipping options.
