   Received in poor condition
My new copy arrived with the cover and half of the pages folded and in poor condition. Put heavy textbooks on top, which has helped a bit, but is still not ideal.
The entire cover of my book is damaged, meanwhile I paid for a new book...I don 't think that is too much to ask.
This is all I used and scored 80% percentile
I realize that everyone studies differently, so if you feel better with a prep course, that's an excellent approach, too. For me, however, the book had all the practice tests and tips I needed to get pretty darn high on the GRE and score into my program without spending hundreds of dollars on a course. Whether or not I'd recommend the GRE as a relevant measure of someone's ability to succeed in grad school is a different story, but I suppose that's beside the point. Anywhos, great book by Anywhos. Despite the super-advertised cover, this really is the official guide.
   Great starting point for studying
I chose this book because it is produced by the GRE's makers. It worked well for me as a starting point, and it provides some great advice on how to approach the test and its questions. The most useful thing for me was probably the sets of practice questions and tests. Definitely check out the PowerPrep tests that they recommend - they give a good feel for the test format itself. As someone who needed to learn all the maths, this book was not quite enough for me. I ended up using many outside resources for lessons, practice and even all in one packets of formulas and lists because this book just doesn't include these things. I can not comment on the verbal section selection since I did not really use it.
   Avoid the Digital Format!
Do not buy the book's digital format. The display and navigation is terrible. If you insist on buying digital and don 't mind the awful formatting, make sure to view the book on the free Kindle app or else some of the questions will not display correctly... See attached image as an example...
