How do you communicate love?
People express and receive love in different ways . . .whether it's quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service, or physical touch. Who better than relationship expert Dr. Gary Chapman, author of the New York Times bestseller The 5 Love Languages, to show you how to communicate love to your loved one in a genuine and thoughtful way every day?

Every day's devotion has a selection from Scripture, an insightful message about communicating love, and a prayer. Spend this year growing closer to those you love most.

When two people commit to each other--and especially when they commit to communicating love to each other through the five love languages--positive change occurs. --Gary Chapman

I like that it's not long as we do it at ...
We're really enjoying it, Mary. It's not long as we do it at night, and it provokes conversation about things we probably wouldn't talk about. It's helping us understand each other better and gives us a better glimpse into what each other feels, Raymond said.

   Good basic devotional
Biblical marriage reference, marriage related topic and prayer. He works in different ways throughout the book. The first couple of devotionals introduce the five by John Paul.

   Thought provoking
My wife bought us a hard copy, and we still have it. Since I had purchased the five Love languages from her about 7 years ago, I have had no problems with her speaking them. This devotional book will keep you in practice daily with the principles of the 5 Love Languages. Each lesson and each devotion has a scriptural reference, so the author is not just blowing smoke.

   Very helpful and enjoyable
My fiancé and I really enjoy the daily readings, she said. Gives us quality time and conversations over the phone, he takes his with him when he goes out of town, he said.

Very therapist based, a lil disappointing, but good reference book
I liked alot of what was in this devotional for material, but not as a devotion for my husband and I, or how the author referred to his therapist experience all the time.

   Covers a lot
If you're already deep into relationship dynamics and study, this may be a light. He also said Blair kept in touch with friends who were "that guy." She really helps both of you see how and why he does that." I'd go so far as to recommend Chapman's 5Love Languages, so you can understand where he comes from, Sosa said. The boys will help - a lot.

Covers many great topics important for relationships!
He said they were a long distance couple and that they read it on the phone together every night. It has strengthened our relationship with God as a couple and with each other, he said. It's great to hear from people who have used it.

   Excellent CHRISTIAN devotional
But, every page begins with a reading from the Christian Bible and ends with a prayer to Lord or Jesus. It should include Christian references, too, said Dr. Goin. He added that the term "preaching" is not defined by the Episcopal Church, but rather by the "devotional devotional" word "meditation." Only in the past few years have we seen other religions use the term. It's just that devotion to one's spouse is not a Christian trait. Whether one's religion or lack thereof, there is a lot of wisdom in the Bible and a lot of to be said for prayers even if they're directed to a deity one doesn't believe in. The book is divided into four sections: Essays, reflections, and a wide variety of subjects. They don't dwell on the 5 languages either, he said, because this is not a big ad for his main book. The imitation leather version feels in my hands, and it has a nice ribbon to save the page.

   Great marriage resource!
I bought this to do with my husband, but ended up just reading myself. These are great short devotionals centered around marriage. It really hits on every topic. Very happy with it, said Dr. Goin.

   Christian and therapy based
Very appropriate use of the space. I like the set up of each page, verse, explanation, and prayer. McCartney and Hurley have a history together.
