A definite place in the library
Derived From Web , May 5, 2022
This book is in our household library because it has a definite bent towards cross-cultural issues. If it were a book, I would give it five stars. I only give it four because I hold the books to the highest standards. The illustrations are interesting but a bit adult focused. Kids could relate if they were less smart. The text is vague and could be more powerful in certain places, but the idea and the story are great. There is a lot of depth in a short book. The issue is not painted in a black and white way.

I love seeing how children see the world, even if it's not what adults want them to see. I used this story with my students.

This book has great illustrations and is well written. It has a great message, but I was looking for something that was more in line with the subject of racism and segregation. This is a great book to read to young children.

Every child should have this in their collection

The story of kids being kids without any adult interference is a wonderful book. I remembered when I was a child, the friends I made that lived across the street. The illustration is wonderful.

Great and easy to grasp introduction to race dialogue for ...
Derived From Web , Dec 15, 2017
It's a cinch to absorb race dialogue for a child. Four-year-old likes a very short story and is not sure if it is accurate.
