Fantastic

It is well written and thorough. It works for value investors as well. It's hard to find the best capital allocators, but I like investing in a great hedge fund, but only paying for the stock. They should be allowed to do the heavy lifting. Being a value investor, I have a hard time with the PE's on some of the companies. I plan on keeping a separate portfolio where I buy at deep discounts to intrinsic value, but also allocate a portion of my portfolio in a separate account to the best capital allocators in about five or less holdings. The rate of return over 10 and 20 year periods was astounding. The challenge is to find the right capital allocators. Excellent book, excellent read.

It was widely acclaimed but predictable. Those involved in the investment business are likely to have heard these stories before. There is little to be learned here.

Interesting idea, decent research, a bit repetitive
Derived From Web , Mar 17, 2018
The book has a screen for the identified leaders that act like PE funds. The presentation is entertaining but a little repetitive and familiar to any follower of Warren Buffet. Some examples feel like they were picked because of research on leadership.

Must finish

You get it 30% of the way through most business books. The last ten pages of a business book summarize the value of the book. You have to finish for it to pay off. Then read the last ten pages of General Dynamics.

The best book on Warren Buffett investment insight and methodology
Derived From Web , Jan 17, 2017
The float from his insurance companies and cash flow from the consumer companies are what he uses to invest. There is a chapter on Warren Buffet that is worth the price of the book. Capital allocation, rolling up companies to maximize scale, margin and cash flow are just some of the insightful strategies I learn as a venture capitalist. I have a lot of ideas to scale my investments. William Thorndike wrote a book about capital allocation. It's a good recommendation for CEO, entrepreneurs and investors.
