Eye-Opening! Tugs the heart strings!

I stumbled upon the story of LeBaron in the spring of a documentary film, so that reading this book was a must! Anna's story brought back so many memories for me that I had buried from my own religious experiences. This book was intended to be another one of my deep dives into a cult, but it has literally changed my life and helped me make sense of so many broken, buried memories and I feel like I can now begin healing. If you enjoy true crime and cult stories, you HAVE to read this! If you have had your own traumatic religious experiences, then this is definitely a must read for you!

You will feel like you are living her life along with her, as she tells her story
Derived From Web , Feb 27, 2019
I became familiar with Anna through the book launch Girl Stop Apologizing. When I found out that she had written a book, I naturally wanted to read it. When I found out that it was the story of her bizarre childhood, I was even more intrigued. The book kept me so interested that I read it in two sessions. Most of the time, I felt as though I was living with her childhood along with her. It is amazing, no, Jesus Christ is amazing in that he got her through this life and she came to believe in Hom and has a relationship with Jesus Christ.

An Incredible Story of Courage and Faith
Derived From Web , Feb 7, 2019
In the course of a few days, I read Anna LeBaron's memoir. I was so captivated by her story and inspired by the courageous journey she traveled to leave the cult into which she was born. It takes a brave woman to be so vulnerable and put the words down page after page. There were times when I could not believe what I was reading. I was encouraged by her persistent faith and her pursuit of healing. In our current climate, we need more stories of people who fight and emerge victoriously through the pain.

This is a story of growing up in a polygamist household ; it is not filled with proofs of all LDS doctrinal errors ; there are other great books for this. This is a book I read again.

I read the Four O 'clock Murders, which tells about the murders of Anna's sister and brother-in-law. I found it fascinating ''. But until I read The Polygamist's Daughter, it was just a real story that happened to be fascinating. However, it is a story of hope above all.

The author is able to tell her story from her earliest memory about her life experiences as a polygamist family. It touched the heart of this reader very much! I thought it was boring in parts
Derived From Web , Aug 27, 2017
After reading all the reviews on this book, I was very interested to see it. I thought it was boring in parts and I fought through it. She introduced characters and I found myself saying Now who is this? It was disorganized and at times I wanted to punch the book, but I was so frustrated. I don 't understand how she got so many good reviews.

Hopefilled
Derived From Web , May 7, 2017
It gives me goosebumps to know that a child who suffered a tragic childhood could become a woman so sure of herself and her Heavenly Father. This story is hard to process in some ways ; it is heart breaking to read what she and her siblings endured because of a lunatic, but you finish the book filled with hope. God makes beauty from ashes and Anna is a prime example.
