   Great Book for Preppers
I haven 't been prepping that long, but had most of the basics in my head. The Prepper's Pocket Guide really helped me to put the stuff in my head into action. Storing water and food isn 't too difficult, but there are hundreds of other things that can become overwhelming. The PPG helped me organize and break things into manageable steps. I found it helpful on many levels ''. I am happy that Bernie Carr stuck to the how-to, rather than scaring the [email protected] out of me with the talk of guns and violence. I believe that more people would become preppers if they didn't feel like joining the Tin-hat crazies. Fear breeds violence and this author seems to have worked to remove fear by being practical in keeping the individual and their family organized through good planning.

Good book for beginners or as checkpoints for review
This book is a good book for beginners to start with without being intimidating or full of lots of details. Even if you don 't want to prep, it still includes lots of topics that parents should consider when they are trying to take care of and protect their children and family. A trucking strike, a train derailing near you, a blizzard, a hurricane, a power outage, flooding, or the terrible fires in the Western United States should make us all do at least a few prepping activities without having to do the Camo and the hidden retreats. This book does NOT provide in-depth details about every little thing -- but is still a very good book with enough information to help you prepare for whatever may come in the future.

Very handy, easy-to-use instructions for preparing yourself and your family for any type of crisis. After living through the hurricane Sandy, I decided to be better prepared for emergencies. There are many books on the subject and it was difficult to decide which one to buy. This is a great book that is fun to read and provides many common sense and inexpensive ideas to prepare yourself for anything from long-term power outages to earthquakes to complete societal meltdowns!

Great for those with a low budget!
My wife and I have college students so that we almost never have money. I really enjoyed this book, because the author explained how you can prepare or start packing with a lot of the things you already have at home. She talks about storage, savings, filters, food even how to make home made by Jerky. I thought it was a good reading experience with a lot of good pointers for those who are new to prepping, like me.
