Book Overview

In this heartfelt Southern love story from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Notebook, a daring fireman rescues a single mom--and learns that falling in love is the greatest risk of all.

When confronted by raging fires or deadly accidents, volunteer fireman Taylor McAden feels compelled to take terrifying risks to save lives. But there is one leap of faith Taylor can't bring himself to make: he can't fall in love. For all his adult years, Taylor has sought out women who need to be rescued, women he leaves as soon as their crisis is over and the relationship starts to become truly intimate.

When a raging storm hits his small Southern town, single mother Denise Holton's car skids off the road. The young mom is with her four-year-old son Kyle, a boy with severe learning disabilities and for whom she has sacrificed everything. Taylor McAden finds her unconscious and bleeding, but does not find Kyle. When Denise wakes, the chilling truth becomes clear to both of them. Kyle is gone. During the search for Kyle, a connection between Taylor and Denise takes root. But Taylor doesn't know that this rescue will be different from all the others.

   Fascinating Read
I enjoyed reading about the three main characters. They were fascinating in their own way. Courage a d strength were evident in each of them. We are gripped in their real life story as the story weaves into our hearts. Nicholas changes course when you think you know the next bend. I really enjoyed this read.

   I love Nicholas Sparks Books
Please keep the tissue box close to you because The Rescue is emotional. I can't believe anyone could finish this book. You feel like you are actually in the middle of what the characters are going through when you read Mr. SPARKS's writing. You will be pleased.

   Same ol same ol
I read one of his books many years ago and it was very good. Not this one. Do not waste your money on it. His story was like many books. I was getting tired of reading about this little chid and his problems with his mom. A love interest comes into the picture. There is nothing special here.

   AN EXCELLENT LOVE STORY.....
I enjoyed The Rescue very much. In the last 2 mths, I have purchased 3 books by Nicholas Sparks. A person can get into the lives of his characters. It's very tiring on a person to be stuck in the house. I am sure many can agree that being able to explore the characters of SPARKS is very helpful and enjoyable. This book is very good. Anyone who likes a good love story with twists along the way will love this book. Thanks to Mr. SPARKS for helping us to get through this Pandemic and keep up his excellent talent in writing, we can all enjoy your pieces of art!

NS while not holding a monopoly on great love stories
The ability to get the reader to completely forget they' re reading and allow the brain to create movement and pictures and deep personal emotional involvement is a rare ability. He had all his books. He writes a clever love story in The Rescue. I don't think anyone should read it unless they bite off huge chunks of the story they' ve known. There is a love story. To comment on the plot would ruin the journey. If you' ve ever loved and lost, loved and won, loved and hated yourself for destroying and running, read The Rescue.
