The book systematically revealed the influences and choices that made Kobe Bryant the man he was. So many of my impressions were either explained or upended to me. It was a compelling reading experience.

Terrific book
Derived From Web , Jan 19, 2022
I highly recommend this book not only for those interested in Kube Bryant, but also for anyone who wants to see what it is like before stardom. Bryant paints a well-reported, well-written, captivating account of Mike Sielski's life leading up to his time in the Lakers. You learn about his family, his friends, his upbringing and how what came before the NBA was a precursor for what came when he was in the public spotlight.

The origin dtory
Derived From Web , Jan 13, 2022
Living in the region at the time, Kobe was the biggest story in Philadelphia when he was in Lower Merion, I thought I knew everything about that time. In reality, there were so many layers of onion. Mike really gets into the heart of the matter and how it has influenced Kobe's future in the NBA.

Great Read

Couldn 't wait to pick up a copy of this book and am all in after seeing a few chapters last night. The author does a great job by describing the foundations of Kobe's early life. This book is the ultimate prequel to a story that knows most of the sports world. This book is highly recommended.
