I can hardly wait to have the time to sit down and really enjoy this book and learn all the knowledge that they ...
I've only had time to read a couple of pages of the Urban chapter, but also take a peak at the camping section. I can't wait to read this book and learn a lot from it. I told my sisters about the book at lunch, and they want me to give a program on what I'm learning when we get together for lunch every month. The book should be in the home library.

i would easily recommend this to anyone
I got this book for its outdoor survival techniques. It's a must have for a parent. The most important thing in the book was the first aid section and plant identification. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

   Must Have for your Library
I already had my own copy of this book, which I recommend, even though I bought this latest copy for my daughter. This is a steal, for as little as this costs, and for the information you get from it. It's not worth much to you if it's wet and can't be read, so you need a waterproof pouch for it. This book will be protected from the elements and ready for review when the weather permits, because I have a Coghlan's waterproof pouch that fits this book and a few other small items. It's too late if you need the book, so be proactive.

   Anti gun author
The author is anti gun and anti 2nd amendment. A survival book doesn't believe in guns for survival. I'll pass. For now, fire wood. I will not change my mind about David Canterbury.

   i'm not gonna make it.
I was inspired to get a book on survival because of Covid and a fiction book I'm reading about a disease that wipes out 99 percent of the population, but after flipping through this guide it is painfully clear that I am not going to make it. The section on skinning animals wasn't clear enough for me, and I don't like getting all the meat off of a chicken. I'd rather die than use animal eyeballs as a water source.

   Good but misinformed/lacking
It's a good book, though you can tell it's older than the country it was intended for. I don't agree with the self defence section for it's view in firearms and lack of understanding for weapons and material arts techniques. I picked up this book because I don't have survival skills.

Don't be put off by the detailed manner of this guide...
I'm writing this review to address what some other reviewers have said about the author's inclusion of obvious and unnecessary detail, like keeping your clothes dry in cold weather. When dealing with difficult scenarios, attention to detail is important and I've worked with military people and cops in prisons. They drill, drill, drill to be prepared for anything that might come up. The author wants to make sure you don't overlook anything. This guide has a lot of useful information. Highly recommended.

You can go to exactly what you need to know with this information. Also updated with recent information such as urban and terrorism survival.

Should be required reading by all Survivalist, Preppers and Campers
It is difficult to keep up with the changes this man has made. This edition is the most complete. It's a must read for anyone serious about survival, camping and preparation. The material is easy to read and understand. The book is small enough to fit in your pack, tote or survival pockets. The author is a recognized authority in survival and by reading the material you can tell that it's not just BS, it's field tested factual information. The pages are of solid stock and seem to be water resistant. It's a great way to make a book for the outdoors. John's book is the best.

I was very disappointed with shelter building section
The shelter building section was disappointing to me. I thought this would be a major part of the book since it's most important if stranded in bad weather. Most of the author's time was spent building in the polar region. Most of us don't see this region, so the author should have spent the majority of his shelter building in the warm zone. I think most people could learn a lot from watching videos on survival.
