This is what Hawkman is supposed to be. He's angry, hungry, and ready to kick some ass. The novel should' ve kicked off the new 52. !

   The Savage Hawkman....
Despite the fact that I can't stand Rob Liefeld, the story was decent, and luckily Joe Bennett was on art duties, not Liefeld. The volume is an attempt at straight- line and makes the origin of Hawkman less confusing.

   Satisfying finish!
I give this four stars because of the way Tom Defence finished it. For what it's worth, the ROB LIEFELD STORIES takes that. DEFALCO has a nice job and is able to tolerate any tendencies of pre new 52 hawkman. It's sad that the series was canned.

   Supreme with Wings!
The art of Rob Liefeld and his associates, as well as the bold story- telling, was something that I loved in the old days of Extreme Studios. The Savage Hawkman has a lot of things going for it. I think it's great! Some DC artist once thought of Hawkman as a character from " Conan". In this book, we can see that Hawkman is a Supreme with wings. It was too bad it got canceled.

   Pass on Hawkman vol. 2
Only 1-2 issues in volume are worth reading. Authors are changed every 2 issues and there is nothing interesting about new characters. Is it a knock off of the series? I'm a big fan of Hawkman and the old stuff, but this is often just garbage.

   Impossible to not hate this
What is the actual hell? The book is bad on many levels. The ridiculous 90s characters, terrible dialogue, insane character choices, poor editing, and complete lack of understanding of what makes this character cool are just some of the things. There are no redeeming qualities in this book. It is simply god awful.
