Delivered quickly, adored immediately ''. This series provides an insightful account of the revolutionary war from the perspective of two teen-ager slaves. I have gained emotional and psychological empathy for the harsh conditions of the time, on top of better understanding the physical and psychological toll, when another person claims ownership of your being. My children read these books to become better people.

   Fantastic
I can not put these books down. I am a teacher of middle school history and bought them to read for my students and I expect them to be hard to read, as I assumed they would be intended for younger children. I am hooked! I have taught the American Revolution so many times and now I feel like I have a true perspective on it. Just be careful and read them in the right order, as it is hard to tell from the cover, and I read the last one first!

   My 10 year old couldn't put them down!
My 10 year old daughter was assigned one of the books from, the trilogy for a summer reading assignment. I decided to order them all three. She could not put them down. At one point she started to read to me from aloud and I was immediately hooked. I plan to read the series when the school starts back and I have some more time on my hands.

   Love this series!!
My daughter had to read Chains for her honors English class over the summer. So, 8 decided to buy the whole trilogy. I love this collection of searies. Blown away by it! As soon as my daughter completed her projects on Chains, she was excited to finish the series. I have used a quote from the time period at the beginning of each chapter to make you think deeper into what was written in the chapter.

   Great Books!
I am a middle school teacher and we read the first book, Chains, for one of our first read alouds. My students were completely hooked up. This book really helped my students really ponder what life was like for a slave and how unfair so many things were. I would recommend this series completely.
