This book is outstanding. I use it daily for meditation. It’s the best spiritual book I’ve found next to the Big Book and the Good Book.

Let your light shine before men
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
He was a teacher who taught principles. It's just that you don't want to worry about losing a limb. He never convinces us that Jesus is the Son of God and is worthy of the title of Savior of the World. And be that Fox is not wushu washy on Jesus message look either Jesus meant what he said or he did not. Believing he meant what he said in one part of the gospel, we believe he meant what he said in the other, love our enemies, repay not evil with good!

Classic Interpretative Work on Jesus' Most Important Teachings
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
Many scholars and others have said that if we had no more of Jesus' teachings, we'd have the entirety of Christ thinking as offered by the man Jesus. The language Fox uses is clear and straightforward, even for those who don't speak English. His teachings about the subtle meanings and impacts of the Beatitudes are some of the best metaphysical writing I've read. With a solid underpinning of spiritual and philosophical understanding, Fox manages to offer specific advice and guidelines for how we can live our lives to the character traits and behaviors that Jesus instructed his disciples to emulate. Highly recommend.

A breathtaking deciphering of the universal spiritual code
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
It is easy to understand how and why Fox captivated live audiences in New York in the first half of the 20th century. His simple, powerful deciphering of one of the most important spiritual messages ever crafted for the benefit of our world is truly capturing the essence of the experience. I read the hard copy over ten years ago and am happy to now have the Kindle version for ease of quick reference, wherever. His Holiness the Rev. Emmett Fox captured the spiritual essence of Universal principles espoused by Jesus. Concise, and gentle in tone, it is written with such clarity of thought and expression that has become for me an essential blueprint for living, Raymond said.

sort of a bipolar rating
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I felt that some parts of the book were very much talking down to the reader, a perspective of this is the way it is. If everyone behaved this way the world would be much better, Hollingworth said. His section on forgiveness is very good, and a lesson we all need to understand, Graham said.

Way too complex
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
While I have always liked this Author, which is why I chose the study, I found this to be too wordy. Perhaps I misunderstood the purpose of the exercise. I have enjoyed reading it and may use it in the future as the basis for a sermon. Al Sharpton, National Baptist Convention president, said Rev. Evans "stood up to the call of duty." Barr said she never touched the suit.

Hard to follow if you weren't raised with religion
Derived From Web , Jun 17, 2019
I purchased this book because I heard it was wonderful, said Janet. I am so lost, said Cara, 38. I wasn't raised with religion, he said. No wonder Martin Luther called it quits: "There is no religion." This book seems to be deciphering the bible from what I can see. I have attempted to read the entire book several times, but I just can't wrap my mind around it. I am understanding how badly man has messed up this world with their religion. That's all I've gotten so far, I'm still working on it, but I'll update once I finish it.

Turns Jesus’ teaching to a human “power of positive thinkingâ€
Derived From Web , Mar 9, 2018
The book is a "power of positive thinking," according to its publisher, and does not align with biblical teaching. Its focus is on the power of our own minds to change things, he said. For those who truly want to understand Jesus' cross and His transforming power, this is not the book for you.

Not a light read
Derived From Web , Nov 13, 2017
Yes, I was wrong, dead wrong. I have found the book to be a transformative tool in the quest to achieve personal growth. I am in a 12-step program and have developed a deep faith through the holy spirit, but had not reconciled my religious experiences and understanding as a child and student in the Catholic Church. After 3 years of reading and re-reading this book, I now have a solid foundation in faith that continues to grow. It has reintroduced me to Jesus, who he was, who he is, and is shaping me into the man God has intended, he said.
