Actually, Really Good.

At first, I was not looking forward to reading this because I feared it would read like a textbook. Boy, was I wrong.
I was required to read this book for a summer assignment for my AP biology course and the book was not only extremely informative but also very interesting. This book changed the way that I think on almost every level. It was like a reality check, presented in the most captivating way possible. Kolbert discusses many heavy topics within her text, drawing readers in while also incorporating a fair amount of humor as well. All in all, I am not mad that I need to write a 6 page report on this book. I'm actually looking forward to it. |

Fascinating Read

This book is informative but also thought-provoking. Each chapter could be a stand alone on various instances of extinction. I found myself wanting to learn more about the different examples provided throughout each chapter. I would highly recommend this book to those interested in science, but also those concerned with the future of humanity.
