This was a present for my grandson when he tested positive for Covid. He also said he did not know Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky. In the third grade, he learned the alphabet by reading the book. It's just that he has an advanced level of reading.

So, I was looking for a basic book for a 7 year old. Slavery was a part of American life for more than 200 years before Abraham Lincoln became president. Not in the sense that ordinary people understand the meaning of the word. He was the subject of a passionate defense by the nation's most renowned historians. If you think about it, youre going to confuse children and misrepresent American History.

My son is a huge history buff, even though he only started school last year. He has read all the books, and I bought several of them. However, he is an advanced reader, so they may be more suited for 2nd and 3rd graders but they are full of great information. Infomercial!
