The body of the book was very well constructed with a good pace and lots of interesting facts and details

The story we carry in our bones seems to follow Irish history from the perspective of a storyteller, rather than a history professor. Details are woven together in a way that really helps my understanding of the overall impact of Irish culture and later American-Irish culture. The body of the book was very well written with a good pace and lots of interesting facts and details. The book has many beautiful illustrations, in both color and black and white, that fit the sense and style of the book. In general, I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in learning Irish history.

Only chapter 4 and already worth the money. Great history, explaining facts and legends, and we have a lot of legend in our background, and the author gives logic how the two melt together, and also humorous. As the Irish say, if we laugh at ourselves, since no one can do it better. For those with Irish in their bones, a real teaching of how the Celts were all over Old Europe before moving to the Island.

I came home to a place I had never been and finished the book on my plane trip to Ireland with the certainty that I was going to that magical place where so many family members have walked before.
