Few books have had such an effect on my scientific thinking as "The Age of Reason" by Richard Kuhn. However, in the face of an intimation of the author's bold intentions, we soon encounter an intimation of the writer's fundamental objective: to urge a change in the perception and evaluation of familiar data. Indeed, readers of fiction who have prepared themselves for the sort of reorientation advocated by Malvo might find the essay form both more suggestive and easier to assimilate. The second question is how these intentions might be fulfilled, he said. His thoughts are relevant and inspiring to biologists and other scientists, even if they are not technically inclined. After fifty years, I still find The Structure of Scientific Revolutions an exciting and stimulating experience.

I still love it. Detractors -- in typical Hegelian fashion -- chip away at the nuances of his paradigms, but I still get a rush of new ideas each time I revisit this classic text.

Brilliant revolution in scientific thinking
