This book was a favorite of mine. McGhee writes about race, economics and politics. She gives us encouragement to live our lives in solidarity by using history to frame insights on our current sociopolitical divides. I'm definitely going to read it.

One of the most important books of our era
Derived From Web , Feb 24, 2021
I would love to make every person in America read this book. I am in awe of people who can do the kind of work McGhee has done for decades because of the depth of the history it chronicles. It takes a startling premise that racism is at the heart of virtually every policy decision we have made as a nation that tears at the common good to prove that. Its range and depth are amazing, but so is the compassionate heart of Heather McGhee. This is a hard book to read but one that makes me feel good about the people who are trying to do us better. If you can, please read it.
