   Awesome
It is a perfect blend of first hand story telling and statistical analysis that illustrates structural racism from historical and contemporary perspectives along with suggestions for how to bridge the divides that keep so many Americans apart

   We are one
This is a good read. She goes through a lot of ways in which white society tried to keep Blacks down. A lesson is given in a human way.

   A Must Read
This book was a favorite of mine. McGhee writes about race, economics and politics. She gives us encouragement to live our lives in solidarity by using history to frame insights on our current sociopolitical divides. I'm definitely going to read it.

One of the best books on racism in America that I have ever read.
I believe that this book will help bridge the intellectual divide and strengthen racial ties in America. It should be required reading in our schools.

   Must read
It was very important and well written. Light reading is not advisable because the subject is serious. The book is very important.

   Couldn't put it down.
The most powerful and profound book I have read in a long time. I've learned a lot. All of us are affected by racism, read with an open mind.

   Very informative
It was an executive who read. It paints a picture of the history of American inequity and how it affects us all. People should read this book.

One of the most important books of our era
I would love to make every person in America read this book. I am in awe of people who can do the kind of work McGhee has done for decades because of the depth of the history it chronicles. It takes a startling premise that racism is at the heart of virtually every policy decision we have made as a nation that tears at the common good to prove that. Its range and depth are amazing, but so is the compassionate heart of Heather McGhee. This is a hard book to read but one that makes me feel good about the people who are trying to do us better. If you can, please read it.
