A must have for every interested reader in the topic ...
A must have in the theme for every interested reader. And Mitrokhin is an enigmatic figure that deserves much more credit.

First time? how about the other books by Andrew?
I respect Penguin a great deal, but to say that this is the first time Mitrohkin is used in a book, is a little big of a stretch, in fact a big stretch. There is a 1990 book by Andrew he wrote with Gordievsky, KGB the Inside Story and in 1999 Christopher Andrew and Mitrohkin wrote The Sword and the Shield. I have both of them. Anybody who knows more analysis may write it here. Merci beaucoup!

   Cyka blyat!
The book is excellent. It is such a thorough detailing of the extent that the KGB gathered and diverted the West and how they infiltrated intelligence so efficiently.

What's the difference between this and the 2 volumes "Sword and the Shield" and "The World Was Going Our Way"
I agree with Mick B, since there is no place to ask questions before purchasing in Amazon - books, the only place to do so is here. Do you have an answer? Is this just a compendium of the 2 giant books in a previous issue? For the record, I am on my way through Sword and the Shield and it is EXCELLENT. Beautiful story telling with a thousand overlapping tales... love it.
