I can honestly say that Wolf is my favorite character. I would NOT hesitate to recommend this ...
This is Stephen King, what else can I say? The story will be expected to be darker than other mainstream writings. It starts slowly, but quickly becomes a fast paced story. I became emotional invested in the book because the characters endeared themselves to me. I can keep re- reading this book and still be involved in Jack's world, as it is one of my ' forever' books. I think Wolf is my favorite character. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in keeping a fantasy reality fictional story. This was not a business transaction.

   Boring
I was surprised to see that I wasn't half way to the end. The story was done. It went on and on. I persevered, because I was determined to finish it. I persevered, but I can only take so much. When the story reached the Black Hotel, I stopped liking it and started skimming. I couldn't go on when I reached page 694. I couldn't finish it because it was too painful. I have zero interest in what happens at the end. The story is 400 pages long. You should not waste your time on this.

   Tough Read...
Only the last 300 pages of this book can be read by Stephen King fans. They are the only pages that felt like King. I almost threw the rest of the book in the garbage because it was so bad, but I was in a foreign country and had no other books to read. I didn't want to donate the book because the first couple hundred pages are so bad. I wanted it in the garbage so no one else would read it.

   One of my favorite books
I love both Stephen King and Peter Straub books. This collaboration is great. There is something about this book that makes me keep reading it. When I first bought it, I read it and then read it again. It is sad, it is happy, and it is frightening. It's remarkable that a young boy is on a journey to save his mom. His trials are noted in detail. His fears, his highs, his lows are written in such a way that he doesn't lose hope that nothing will make him quit. The story flows better with all of the characters being well- fleshed out and the evil and good getting more attention. I can't recommend this book enough.

   Not my favorite
I was told it was a great book. The person told me that it was read when they were still in school. It was slow and corny as an adult. It was a stretch of imagination to think of a story that kept my attention and I wanted to keep reading. The solution was simplistic and unbelieveable. I hope it's better.

This book is a MUST for your fiction collection
I really like this book. In high school, I first read it. After working with Stephen King, I fell in love with the writing of Peter Straub. Stephan King is the master of writing fiction and horror and Peter Straub is the TWINNER. I believe this book was written with the two great writers in mind. It makes you wonder if there is a good chance that the Territories exist. I hope you enjoy it.

One of the greatest books ever written
This is one of the greatest books ever written. This is one of the books I like the most. The Stand is also written by Stephen King. My words won't do justice to this book so I won't try. If you ever doubt Stephen King's ability to bring you into another world, read this book and you' ll never doubt him again. This book helped shape my world.

   Excellent!
One of my favorite fantasy novels is still being read. Not snooty, but a high level of diction. It makes everything come alive even more. There are several good bad guys to hate, and both King and Straub write the best villains. Jack Sawyer is the main character, but there are many other good guys that you can like. It may be time to read The Talesman again if you haven't done so in a while. It's time for you to read it.
