Genuinely outstanding text for actors and directors of Shakespeare.
It's great to be back home, said Gillian Anderson, star of the new version of The Tempest. The notes on the text, the layout, and the typeface combine with First Folio spelling and punctuation to make this the most actable version of a play I've seen. The only small gripe I have, and it is a one-minute gripe, is that the binding could be sturdier - the cover of mine is busily in the process of falling off, and we are not halfway through the rehearsal process yet. Even with time, I would rate this 6 stars if I could.

   Awesome
I absolutely love this book. I am a huge Shakespere fan and I love all of his works, Beckham said. I bought this as a textbook and it really helped me with my math.

   Great place to start
The New York Public Library's collection of Shakespeare's works includes folios, short stories, and essays. Note the underlined lines: "Notes and word translations are on the left page, with original text on the right."

the notes tell me more than I ever knew about drama
The writer of the letter said he was attacked by somebody who wanted to kill some real killers for all their expletive-deleted activities.

All of the pages a printed out of order so the book is useless
I ordered this a few months ago, just in time for my daughter's high school book. Nobody thought to look inside. She just started reading it in school and discovered that ALL the pages are printed out of order. I was thinking of taking it apart, because I cannot return it anymore. I was going to put them back together in order the wrong pages were printed on the back and front, but I can't even do that. MAKE SURE CHECK THE PAGES OF THE ORDER when you receive this item.

   Shakespeare's Farewell to the Stage
According to the English writer William Shakespeare, the last play written by himself was "Hamlet." It's a nice, clean work, and smooth to read," said James. There's a tradition that says it's Shakespeare's last performance on the stage, and I think that reading a good book, I think, fits that bill. Sometimes I think the clowns and fools in the plays are expressing Shakespeare's own opinions, but that's not a perfect fit. Prospero is probably the closest we get to a Shakespeare proxy, and this makes Prospero's plea for rest at the end of the play all the more touching. Great cover, attractive jacket, readable font, and helpful footnotes. I've read all the editions, and I still can't get over them.

printing error: pages are mixed up
The pages are scrambled within scenes, within acts, and across the front matter. I have tried to reach the Folger Shakespeare Library in London to try to locate the printer. Simon and Schuster announced Tuesday that four more books by Hachette are being added to the list. Perhaps someone will see this and remedy the situation, Mr. Rule told the judge.

   Pages out of order
Bought this book for my daughter who needed it for school. She tried to start reading the book, but the pages were all out of order.

   pirated/fake copy
I had no idea anyone would pirate a copy of William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" until I opened the package. My first clue was that it didn't make sense when I tried to read it because it didn't start at the beginning of Act I. The front pages are out of order. Then I looked closer and saw that they had edited the cover. The DVD says it was edited, but the Web site says it was not. If you want to read the entire story, you must buy the book.

   Typos
Initially, I'd found this to be a good version, but as my wife and I read it, it became evident there were a lot of typos. It was distracting to the point where I didn't care to stop and reflect on a passage.
