#1 New York Times bestselling author of American Assassin--now a major motion picture

Vince Flynn's high-energy (Booklist) political thriller places CIA superagent Mitch Rapp in the crosshairs of an enemy even he did not anticipate.

When diplomacy fails and military intervention is inappropriate, our leaders sometimes take the third option.Mitch Rapp has been assigned just such an unofficial task, targeting a German industrialist who is supplying a notorious terror sponsor. But when the mission is dangerously compromised, Rapp realizes he's been deemed an expendable asset in a power battle on home turf: the choice of Dr. Irene Kennedy as successor to dying CIA director Thomas Stansfield has many detractors, some who will resort to extreme measures to prevent her from taking the reins. But no one counted on Mitch Rapp's return.or how far he'll go to find out who set him up.

If you like modern political thrillers and characters like Jack Bauer (or ...
Vince Flynn' sMitch Rapp character was mentioned several years ago. I had it on my To Read List, but I finally read the first novel a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want to put it down when I got into the character and storylines. I can read Rapp's tales for hours without a break because I am on the second novel and have not had such focused reading time. This is a must if you enjoy thrillers like Jack Bauer. Flynn's Rapp will be great. Flynn does a great job of keeping the reader wanting more. My view and understanding of what makes each player tick keeps growing. I read professional literature every day, but this is where I escape. It was a great read. !

   Exciting (at the beginning)
The books are written well, but sometimes there are too many threads to remember. I like to read about 10 pages a day until I fall asleep, but I am intrigued enough to continue the series. I find it hard to be entertained by a series that happened before 9-11, but I think how naive we were. I will continue the series despite the books being out of date.

Zero Stars plus Five Stars Equals Three Stars
Vince Flynn novels are enjoyable, but some of the more recent ones, such as ' The Third option', are boring. The FBI director's children's soccer games, domestic quarrels among the CIA staff, and the naming of theMitch Rapp babies are all in the book. To average out to three stars for ' The Third Option', I gave zero stars to those chapters on drivel and five stars to the real espionage stuff that Flynn fans buy his books for.

Great mistery on the home front.
This book was very good. I'm starting the next one to see what happens with Senator Clark trying to undermine the CIA. It tookMitch a long time to find out who his enemy was. It is very exciting to say the least. The boss, Thomas Stansfield, is very ill. He's a character that I really liked because of his calm demeanor. It's good that he has the President's ear. There are a lot of people who don't like him who are willing to do anything to get him out of their way. I'm sorry but I started reading this series late but I'm really excited to read it now. I will read all of theMitch Rapp books in the coming year.

   MITCH RAPP. ~. BOOK TWO
The second full book by Vince Flynn featuresMitch Rapp, a master assassin. The series has a reputation for international intrigue, but this book is more based in Washington. It could have used more action, but it was not as good as the first one. There is a story about an operation and the results. You don't want Rapp to be an enemy. No fear book three is on my list of books to read.
