   Old Fisher-Price Version Was Better
It's a shortened version of the original Fisher-Price set. FisherPrice's version was significantly better. It cuts out a LOT of the story. I stopped reading this to my 3 year old after one reading and instead just showed her the Disney video of this on YouTube. That was pretty cute, Mr. Booher told us. Blair said she "loves it" when people ask about Harry's costume. The Golden Book suffers as many problems with book design as do those pesky paperbacks. The choppy water makes it difficult to get to the beach. Turner says he can't stand Golden Books any longer.

Good Story, Great Classic, No so Great Illustrations
I can still remember my Grandpa reading them to me when I was a kid. It was a perfect present for my sister's baby shower theme. It did a great job of serving its purpose, he said. I even heard people reminisce and discuss the Golden Books they had when they were children. Like other illustrators, Mr. Baldacci said the illustrations were not that great but that it was still a good story.

   My daughter loves this story
My daughter absolutely loves the story. You cannot isolate the photo or increase the picture. That is a bit of a letdown especially since I need to wear reading glasses and the fonts are really small. The magnifier is ok but it over laps into the nice pictures and it's distracting to a toddler. It's just that I always remember it when I was a kid. A true classic.

Sweetly Nostalgic and all Disney all the way
This was a gift for a beloved grand niece, so we wanted it to be really new and really nice, too, Mr. Caramore said. The item arrived exactly as expected on time, and it was immediately picked up by Amazon. com. It was exactly what you would expect, all Disney all the way, which for us was sweetly nostalgic.

Great read from an old favorite
The book was purchased for my 9 month old nephew. It was a favorite of mine when he was very small.

   Missing important images
I am a speech-language pathologist who works in the classroom. I was looking forward to incorporating a classic tale into therapy but was disappointed with the lack of pictures for all major events, he said.

Shame on Little Golden Book! Lack of Visuals and Story Telling!
The Little Golden Book publishing company, run by the late Peter Hedgecock, is notorious for its lurid fiction. There are no photos of the Brick House or the Straw House left. It's just that you never see the Fox blowing the houses down. Visual aids must be present to help children understand, Mr. Dhaliwal said. It was as though they wanted to save money for printing the extra pages that are needed to properly tell the story.

Story is shortened & illustrations hard to follow
Before the story goes, there is an illustration of the wolf. No illustrations of the best parts of the story, such as the different types of houses and when the wolf falls in the firehot water, were shown. He admits that the story is missing a lot of the details.

   Great book!
An extremely large wolf has the lung capacity of a Category 5 hurricane and torments three pigs because, you know, bacon. No spoilers, but I never could have guessed what would happen next. It's just that you won't find another one." I'm proud to say I read it cover to cover in about six weeks, he said.

Cost-Savings by Removing Pages and Illustrations
It looks like the publisher tried to save money by using as few pages as possible, Libowitz said. There is no such a book, no matter how many times people complain about the lack of a showing of the house of straw. It follows the Disney classic mostly, but it shows one of the wolf's ploys, which is not the other. Several scenes in this book are so reminiscent of the "Harry Potter" series that it's maddening to read it to my toddler.
