A beautiful classic

I see that this book needs only one 5-star review, but as long as Amazon has gotten me started reviewing some recent purchases, let me say that the artwork alone is enough to make it one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen. Ordinarily, I would suggest looking at the physical pages to see for yourself, but in this case I am not sure that they really convey the vibrancy and impact of the preview book. I encourage buyers of this book to get the hardcover, I predict that it will be a keepsake you will want to return to for years to come, well after the time your children supposedly outgrown it.

Beautiful and Touchng
Derived From Web , May 14, 2022
This book is just so beautiful and is so well-suited for my counseling students, who have questions just as important as Thor in this book. The author seems to truly understand children and how they think and question themselves. The illustrations in this book are beautiful and calming, though the questions are less settling and oh so important. Just so beautiful!

VALUES NON-theist Clear Message

I LOVE Jon MUTH, the illustration is really a joy in his books. We checked this book out of the library almost every other visit because my daughter just LOVED it. When it went on sale here, I got it, and I got about five more for friends. It is a fabulous book that talks about doing the right thing, where you are and not worrying too much. Don 't run off and do good deeds for anonymous people when the people you meet every day could use a little of your time and kindness. I 'd love to see a book like this that includes a child with other children talking about these things instead of a child with animals. I'm sure that kids would like to talk to their friends about these same questions.

As the NYT Book Review said, life-changing. My five-year-old daughter received it for her birthday and finds it a likeable and intriguing story.

This is a beautiful story loaded with meaning lots to talk about and to think about. I gave it to my eight-year-old grandson on the occasion of his baptism, and I am sure that he will treasure it for years to come.

A story not just for kids
Derived From Web , May 14, 2022
I have loved this story since it was first published and I could always borrow it from the library, where I worked. This way I can share them with neighbors, grandchildren and others. I needed a story to tell for a children's gathering and this came immediately to mind, so I am very happy to add it to my collection of favorites. I believe that the best children's stories have much to offer adults as well, and this has an important message for everyone and has wonderful illustrations accompanying the story.

There is a lesson to learn, but learning is presented very gently. I will purchase more books from Jon Muth.

Beautiful, but not as great of a children’s book as I expected.
Derived From Web , Dec 6, 2021
It is a great looking hardcover book. I think the re-written story is still a little dense and not enough fun for the kiddos. It did not really hold their attention.

Tolstoy's Three Questions...
Derived From Web , Apr 8, 2021
I love the original short story of Three Questions by Jon Muth, but I am obligated to Leo Tolstoy to offer this wisdom to children. I bought this for my grandson and wanted him to share with his sisters and understand what is said through the story. This is a book that you pick up annually and think about your reaction. I wish that the original story was available for his father in print form. Thank you both Leo Tolstoy and Jon Muth, first to write it and then share it with all generations...

This may be a children's book and is very good for children, and is also excellent for adults. The illustrations are delightful and amusing. I wish I had grandchildren to read this book while snuggled up to it.
